I have an interest in the XTO Orediggers 1H well.  XTO paid a shut in royalty in February.  Last week the trrc posted the production at the well and the well has been producing since February.  XTO has not made an attempt to return one of the many calls made to them.  I cannot talk to anyone but an operator or a machine.  Does anyone have an idea of how to proceed to get a satisfactory answer?

Hello Mason,

I would try to contact the land man that had you sign the lease so that you can get a name, phone number or e-mail of a person at that can help you.  I had a lease that I was trying to get released from Petro hawk and had some what the same problem as you have.  Certified letters not answered, phone messages not returned.  Then I got the land man on the horn and he jumped throw hoops to get me to the right department.  Im now hoping that she takes care of the release for me.   I Wish You Luck!

I originally leased with Hunt petroleum, so I have a problem trying to contact anyone.  The original lease was in 2005.

The next step I would take is to contact EXXON Mobil.   They purchased XTO in 2010.   If you can't get any info from them over the phone then start hunting on this website for either one of these companies land men.

Does your lease say anything about how much income they have to produce before you get a check?  In some cases they hold your money till it gets to a certain amount before they cut you a check.

One of the problems with all of these oil and gas companies is that they have a lot of offices doing different things.  In some cases they farm different jobs out to other companies.   Maybe there is someone on this website that can direct you to another office for XTO that is dealing with Shelby County.  It might be in OK, LA or TX.

Another thing you could do is go on this website to the section called Leased by XTO.  Ask some of the people on that section for a name of the land man that helped them sign their lease.  Out of the 30 or so members there someone should be willing too help you.   There are also land men that are on this website and one of them should know of someone that works for XTO.

We had this discussion several months ago about reaching XTO and someone suggested calling their Longview office.  Maybe you can get a real person on the phone...

My family has just been through a lot with XTO Entergy. RODNEY BLACK is the Inhouse Landman. He is who they will repeatedly put you in touch with. And he will answer your questions. Even the royalty dept , Lewis, ended up having Mr. Black call me. 1-817-870-2800 Hope this helps.

When I was fairly young, my landman would not return calls, etc.  So, I looked on the internet, saw names of man who signed checks (decided to be sure NOT to call him), chose a pic of the Chairman of the Board w/number under the pic.  He told me he would have the appropriate gentleman telephone me and gave me name and number.  I explained that he would not contact me as I had tried to speak to him many times, etc.  He said, "You WILL HEAR FROM HIM THIS TIME.  I SHALL PHONE HIM NOW:,  I DID hear within two hours; moreover, he was very cooperative. I believe that if I wanted to speak w/him today, he would call.  LOL  This was not appropriate, but it did work.  They do remember you when you start at the bottom and continue going up the ranks until you get someone who does not want to do the work; they will put you back on the right stage of the :food chain soon.  LOL

I also have had similar dealings with XTO since we were sold to them last year.  They have downsized supposedly and are not very helpful.  Actually they are pretty rude to us.
