I think most states have a statute of limitations on civil suits so anyone who hasn't already filed within the time period (which varies from state to state-see an attorney if you think you might have a claim) could well be out of luck for getting anything in a judgment/award against CHK for any breach of contract that occured several years ago. 

For purposes of setting a precedent and perhaps putting CHK in their place over some of their questionable (but perhaps technically legal) activities, I would love for the plaintiffs to win in the long term.
