How long will XTO keep hammering these alt wells. While I'm at it, let's ban the Marcellus from producing any more increases in production.
Frank, I hope they keep on for several years, especially in North Shongaloo-Red Rock Field. They have 4 or 5 more locations in, on or near me and have completed 3 this year in NSRR and 5 or 6 completed in Cotton Valley Field. Currently drilling Miller well in Haynesville Field about a mile from me. They still have potential to drill many more in area. perhaps they may find Brown Dense fairway under some of this vast HBP area if they ever decide to test it with a horizontal. That could keep them busy for many years. They are presently completing location for Hardaway well about 2000 feet east of Sanders Heirs well. XTO only has 1 rig working the area and alternate between NSRR and CV Fields. Wish they would get another rig.

Cottonmouth,
If you looked at the production and location of wells in sections 11 and 12, T23N, 9w and tell me that the ALT unit well in S12 did not need to be drilled remediate drainage then I would ask you if there is ever the need for ALT unit well. Just compare production between Mickey Wise well in S12 to the Sanders D-2 in S11. I think XTO would not have recently extended or renewed contract which ended a couple of months ago.
No, I don't think that the wells are so great. But, at age 79 (next Saturday) I want to see as many wells as I can during my lifetime. Having been involved with NS-RR Field since first deep wells were drilled in 50's I admit to being a bit prejudiced.
Should you wish to contact me I can be reached at: calais0929@aol.com or at (480)515-2606. I would be interested in knowing whre your WI is.
Given the location of your land I can understand your point of view. The Godley well does not look very good and they are building location now for well between Murphy and Godley wells. I anticipate this location to be much better than Godley. Also, because of landowner problems in S3 I am glad I am not in that unit. I would like to see XTO drill horizontal well in S2. The original Murphy well was permitted for horizontal but XTO re-permitted and drilled vertical.
Aubrey,
I'm just on the CHK operated side of Haynesville. I fret about and try to figure out how to combat their funny money as well as suffer a bit from choke backs during this market glut. I applaud the choke backs and lack of drilling when the storage levels are about to pop. I just see a few operators putting huge wells online that aren't needed by the market and the North Eastern version of the HV gaining in production each month as prices stay so soft. Six dollar gas and 8-9 wells per section would suit me just fine right now. However, I know where the market is and accept the situation that all these drill bits has created.
I'm glad most of my gas is still underground for the future instead of blowing through the pipe at $1.90 to $2.65 as yours seems to be doing.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
