I guess this means it is on a pipeline?

06/20/2013 10 10503 COMP 06/11/13: GAS, L SMK RA, 668 MCFD, 112 BCD, GOR 5964/1, CK 8, GVTY 62.9, BWD 0, BS&W .2%, FP 2959, CP 29, PERFS: 10204'-10208', 10120'-10124', 9966'-9970'.

3 fracks , Zero water associated with production

Also, re-classified to a gas well (type 3 allowable)

112 Bbls of condensate/day plus 668mcfd = 223.33 boepd rate on a 8/64ths choke (50% oil)

That's not accounting for the NGL cut

Anyone remember what the IP rate SWN announced for this well was? BTU content?

I'd say you are correct, obed.  The Dick James location is S1 -19S-16W.

Anyone have any boots-on-the-ground reports for the horizontal that was also drilled on this site?

Word in the bar is that SWN parted the casing near the toe of the well when fracing one of the first few stages of a planned multiple stage frac job.  The guys at the bar know what they are talking about.  There is a pipeline to the location.  If the well was producible it would be on sales.  Dang, another $12MM down the drain.

Guess that one will not be a company maker but hope springs eternal in LSBD. We are constantly reminded we are in the early innings of this game and one day soon Willie will have good news to report without tap dancing.

Yes... to the hope springing eternal.  Southwestern, Whiting and Ankor are still willing to expend capital to attempt to make the Brown Dense commercial.  However I would think that the prospect is about in the seventh inning stretch.

Exploration in the BD is now 4 and a half years old.  And GHS has been there from the beginning before the spud of the ENDSLEY 1-24H.  To date 21 wells have spud. 6 are plugged and abandoned, 3 are classified Inactive Dry Hole; Future Utility, 2 were shut down for non-compliance by the AOGC, 1 was re-completed in a different formation, 6 are producing with one possibly economic and 3 are drilling.  There are 4 expired permits to drill including the SWN Upshaw and Plum Creek which expired last Sunday and 3 un-spud permits.  2 of the permits and one drilled well, not completed belong to Whiting which has stated that they are working a different prospect to separate themselves from what Southwestern is doing although it's still the Lower Smackover but down dip and more focused on wet gas than oil.  At least it appears that way currently though it is a little confusing.  The list of major operators who have come and gone includes EOG, Devon, Cabot and XTO(XOM).  A list of the smaller operators would include Brammer/Anderson Oil, Sklar Exploration and Dan A. Hughes.

I hope the boys in the bar make a toast to the true believers who have stayed the course.  Here's to 'em.

All of those stats are hateful dream killers. Gatrpaw has some secret information that will make plenty of people fat and happy. I keep observing GHS for the day when Gatrpaw will share it with us.

All of the stats are facts.  Facts are not hateful, they are simply reality.  However it is encouraging to hear that Gatrpaw knows the secret.  Hopefully he will share it soon.

I know they are factual and the bottom line though my point is the peeps do not like the bottom line. They need a flim flam man to tell them there is not trouble in River City. Do not hold your breath on Gatrpaw.

Another word on the street is that Ankor hit 3 pay zones while Drilling.

That word keeps spreading maybe bonuses could edge up. Tell us more. Good news.

If you don't mind my asking, Skip are you the Homer Peel Jr. that buys minerals? Do you have or are part ownership in LLC's that buy and sell minerals? Have you ever bought minerals in areas of this Brown Dense Smackover? Have you and are you currently buying or soliciting to buy minerals in Claiborne and Caddo parishes? What about other areas of O&G activities?

After all of this time, someone opened a can of worms. LSBD has made its mark.

Mr. Peel has vastly more insight on the O&G business than I but I would like to address one or two of the "facts" from his post.

As to the "one possibly economic well", I assume he is referring to Weiser Brown's Exxon-Mobile (serial#239523) in Union Parish. That well has produced 60,344 bbls. of oil or condensate and 69,266 mcf of gas. The gravity on that oil is 50 degrees, the exact same gravity as SWN's BML well. SWN stated in August of last year that the BML was receiving a premium to the WTI from wells in the area as well as a premium to the NYMEX on the high btu gas. I did not use the premium numbers in my calculations, I used $90 on the oil and $3.50 on the gas and I still arrive at a gross income of $5,673,391 in 7 months of production. I don't have the AFE on the WB well but it is shallower than the WILL-DRILL well that was approved last month in Columbia Co. AR. The AFE on that well is $1,597,523. I think we can remove the word "possibly economic" on this well. If I am wrong in my assumption that this well Mr. Peel is referring to, I apologize in advance.

When Mr. Peel "list the major operators that have come and gone" and includes XTO/XOM, I would like to remind him of the huge amount of acreage that is already held by XOM. They are in no hurry and it is better to let SWN, WLL and others spend the money and take the risk due to the fact that the clock is ticking on those companies. XTO/XOM has not "gone" anywhere.

You can take "facts and stats" and put whatever type of spin you want to achieve conclusions that suit your agenda.
