I have read that Sabine County may hold multiple pay zones. Could this situation extend the life of some of the high volume results that companies are having (in other counties)or is it totally unrelated? Also I read in a GCAGS article that there may be large amounts of gas surrounding the geological formation known as the Sabine Island but at considerable depths. As this was written in 2001, that may be the target but I can't find what this may be called and if it is sand or shale? Any help would be appreciated.

alongview, I have been following this and have tried to research it myself. Pretty much killed Saturday and Sunday but did learn alot about he Sabine Uplift. My interest is at the intersection of Sabine, Shelby and San Augustine. Have you had a chance to post a map of Sabine Island?

I like this map.
Funny how the area that show the shale looks like the gorilla uplift.
Baron, Good map
I don't know jim,

just what i've picked up over the years.
Baron,
Great Map!! Where did you find this? Is there an article or narrative with it?

Mike,
Where did you find information on the Sabine "Uplift"/ "Island" etc.?
Cheerleader, this was developed by HK or CHK (i can't remember which) to show what the conditions where when the HA shale was being deposited (as believed by their geologists). Notice in east Texas the lime beaches and carbonate lagoon, these deposits would be the same age and part of the same formation as the HA shale, but would be a different composition of rock due to different conditions and types of sediments.
Baron, Do these Lime beaches and carbonate lagoons produce at a high rate like the shale?
I don't know, that may be a question for Jay.

However, There has been some talk on this site lately about a Haynesville Lime in east texas.
Thanks Baron for the response and thanks for the map. I have asked alot of questions regarding the Haynesville Lime but haven't been able to get much info. Are these lime beaches shown in the map the same as the Haynesville Lime that we have discussed on here before? Are they the same thing as the carbonate shoals that are the same color in the map? This is for anyone!
My guess would be yes. I still believe this is a question for the Shalegeo, Jay.
