"We are pleased with our progress and execution in 2015. We've expanded our acreage position in North Louisiana by adding an additional 31,157 net acres year-to-date, which continues to increase our drilling inventory. Skip, I noticed that shaler "Dale Slack" posted comments for Lincoln Parish, stating that there is now a good well in the West Simsboro field. Do you happen to know Section, Township and Range for this well. Maybe serial number? Also, your thoughts on this activity reaching the area just north of Arcadia. As always, I appreciate your opinions.
Treeman
treeman, there is one MRD well in the W. Simsboro Field, the LUMCFS 2-11H. I'll post a link to the well at the end of my comment. This well has been brought to my attention previously. If you go back to one of the previous MRD corporate presentations you will read where problems caused this to be a short lateral with an IP of ~4MMcf/d. The completion report now posted in the state database is quite different, much better well result. The question is which is correct. The well is not flowing any where close to the ~24 MMcf/d in the state report. It is less than 3 the last time I heard. So is the well really a 24 MM IP and it's choked back that much? Or is there a mistake in the state report? I don't know the answer to that question. I do know that the well is ~ 8 to 9 miles east of Arcadia. And that's too far to infer much from whatever result we may choose to believe.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
