Anyone have any news about the Orchard Subdivision? We had fliers placed on our mailboxes months ago offering up to $500 per lot. I think some people signed then.

Wow Parker,

You have quite a bit of land if they saved over 10 mil. I wish you the absolute best in making some of that back on your next lease. Was that property anywhere around the Orchard?
For those that don't know or haven't been driving through the Orchard, or down Sligo (just before Lucky Estates) there is a group of mineral owners coming together in this area and there is a sign with a contact number. This is just mineral owners coming together as a group trying to work together to get the best possible deal for each family.

We will be holding our first meeting toward the begining of Aug. I will post up the date, time and location here and in the meeting discussion.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 5 at 6:00pm at the South Bossier Baptist Church on Sligo (across from the Orchard). Please come and tell your neighbors. The more people we have the better for all of us. If you have any questions than reply back to this. We will be getting fliers out this week so be looking for it.
mom of 3, Sounds great. Thanks for all the time you have put in, as well as the other regular posters who are pulling this together. Good Job!
Hey mom

If you need any help handing out the fliers call my cell.

Randy
Thanks mom of 3 for working out the details, your efforts are truly appreciated.

We may want to come up with a list of topics to be covered @ the meeting and post them up here. Also, if anyone has any specific questions that require some research prior to the meeting please let us know. I'm not an expert when it comes to dealing with O&G leases but have definitely been doing a lot of research over the past few months. Obsessed I believe is how my wife puts it....
If you look under the South Bossier post there is mention of a group on Caplis Sligo with 175 acres thus far. We should look into the possibility of joining with them or at least discussing our options. I requested further information about the group and hope to get a response.

BTW, have we already distributed the fliers?
Here is the response that I received with regards to my previous post:

Hi SoBoRes, the person you need to contact is John Provost, he lives off of Caplis-Sligo. Most of the 175 acres is off of Caplis (Shadow Ridge, Bobbie Lane, etc...). His number is 208-4164. He is working with three oil companies to get the best deal. Kinda like playing one off the other.

Thanks to Terry Allen for the quick response. When I get back in town I will contact Mr. Provost and see if it would be beneficial for all of us to join together. Maybe we could request their attendance for our meeting in August. Anyone have any comments or suggestions regarding this? Thanks
I do have the fliers ready. I am trying to decide the best way of getting them out, ie. working around my kids naps and feeding times. We now have between 35 & 40 acres pulled together. I am still hopeing to get more in our neighborhood (Orchard) or other areas around us. One question I have been asked is how do you find out if you own your mineral rights? I know you go to the court house but where and is it listed on a specific document??? Also, I heard M Montogmery just signed. Can anyone find out who he signed with and for how much per acre. This may come in handy when we start our negotiations since his land is next to ours.

Also thanks for the info about Mr. Provost. I will try to contact him as well.
Thanks again and keep Blogging!!! This info is very helpful.
Forgot to add this: Someone had said that only 3 people in Lucky Estates have not signed. I have 7 people who have called wanting to join us so there may be more out there. Please spread the word!
That's good news. If you don't get the fliers out by Friday I will help this weekend. Let me know. Also, if you contact Mr. Provost please send me an email with a summary or give me a call. I'd like to know what type of experience he may have dealing with O&G.

We went to the courthouse and a very nice worker did all the work for us. We just asked and she searched on ther computer. Very easy!
