The time is approaching swiftly when we will be forced to start making those tough decissions that could affect us for generations to come. Do we really feel that we are completely prepared for this undertaking or are we just ready to start hearing some of those big offers ? This is a tremendous task that we face and I am curious as to the state of our minds right now. Please give me your thoughts as to whether you feel we are as ready as we feel.

SNAKE!!!!!!!! We missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!
You weren't around to keep me out of trouble-(see discussion about landman's pay)!
I think there are more people ready than before the last meeting at the high school. There are more people on the website from Doyline which is a good thing. I've found out more info in my case which may help me!

WHAT'S THE PLAN???????
The Ron Black pool has over 9300 acres in it, I assume mostly from Webster parish. The deadline is 8/15/2008, the bonus amount will be very interesting information. We can use that as a starting point, maybe?
Scott....I'm as ready as I"LL ever be! :)
Tom
Hello Rosebud , Mr. Black is a percentage type of guy.We aren't the same.
Hello Moonman , I have a co-worker that has thrown his hat into the ring so to speak with Mr. Black. If He has this amount of acreage it is new to my co-worker.Most of the time these guy's use total acreage until they start dividing out the different bonus amounts just like the Heflin group with Mr.Merrill did. They use outer areas to pump their prime areas and then offer much lower bonus amounts to these outer areas. There were different bonuses for people within rockthrowing distance from each other, $3,000 difference. If people decide not to sign it hurts their neighbors that do sign because fee schedule goes up when fewer are on board. Sad day for these guy's.Kin folk mad at kin folk. It will be interesting to see what comes of this group that according to O&G's aren't even on the Shale. I just hope people read and fully understand the fee schedules in ALL of these groups.
Hi Snake, well maybe the bonus and lease will be high if thats what they want. Personally, I couldn't sign a generic lease agreement. I want a minimum wellhead distance from any dwelling or out building (600 ft) and no truck access from 11pm to 7am.
There is no way in this world that they ( O&G's ) are going to open that can of worms this early on in the fringe areas , even if we know it isn't fringe at all.You bring up an oustanding point. When this is all said and done , the things that may have been least important may become the most important. Only then it will be too late. When you are dealing with an out of towner he may not have your current or future best interests at heart
Ron Black's pool is different from SWAMO and yes it does include mostly, or maybe only, Webster parish properties. And alot of the property involved is in central webster T19N and 20N. So it will be interesting to see what the offer is for it.
If I get any more ready, I will either jump out of my skin or have a coronary. I was just talking to my wife about the magnitude of this undertaking and what is at stake. Maybe I am just crazy, but it's get me excited. I am no longer focused on what the amount is I am going to get for my property, but rather SWAMO as a group. The numbers that project across the screen of my calculator need only be spoken about in a different setting than this. I will just say that our area will take on a whole new face.

When you speak about generations to come, you hit the nail on the head. I am so excited about the days to come and what my grandchildren will read about one day.

The hard work of today won't last forever. A few nights with small amounts of sleep now will pay huge dividends in the future.
I am in Ron Blacks group and I am excited to hear the offer. We are under no obligation to lease if we do not like the offer. I just got in on one meeting but I never imagined it was this many acres. We will know August 15.
Get ready Rose B1. If the trend continues as I feel it most certainly will, some will receive better offers then the others. Why is this the case ? Because if you had asked Mr. Black at the begining of all this he would have told you that he wasn't negotiating for anything! He was turning your info over to an auction house. Thats it. Whats done is done.Nothing more, nothing less. Please do not get discouraged at a lower then expected offer. It is still very early in the play and in theory according to O&G you aren't even on the Shale. Some of your group will not even get an offer above $1,500 if that much.Do not let them play you. That is phase two of their game. Devalue you until you are glad to get whatever you can get your mitts on.
