Located in Southern California and have land in Desoto Parish. Chesapeak is repeatedly contacting us wanting to lease the land, we have heard of more royalties for unleased land. We are not there to keep an eye on things and feel left out. What are the pro's and con's any suggestions? We are in S35-T14N-R15W area.

If Shreveport Attourneys fees are so low, then why should CHK pay for it?
Our cousin has 70 acres that are ajoined to our 2 acres, he leased to CHK last year for 10,000.00 per acre before the economy took the dive. He said that they were putting in a well on the land, I dont know if they put it on his land or not. Our land is in S35-T14N-R15W
No well has been permitted in this section yet.
They can still permit a well. I would understand not begining drilling yet, but personally I would want to get my permit through the works.
Thanks a million for the link, it shows all the names of the family in that section. No we have not recieved notice of anything other than the landman pushing for us to lease.
Be prepared to write a check for your copies.

What are the typical copy costs KB?
Thats a lot money for somthing the average joe can't deceipher or understand.
Thanks I definately will and I'll keep you updated with there responses.
The landman upped his price today from $1250.00 per acre to $1750.00 per acre, he sure keeps trying to get us to sign a standard lease form.
