About 1 mile behind our house In Desoto Parish is a hugh location being built on our neighbors property.
On this location is has a sign that has Chesapeake Section 30.
We are in section 30. I can not find any permit info on this well.
We have not signed a lease on our property. How do I find out the permit info on this well & if in fact it is a HS well.

Hi,
we are section 30 Township 11 North, Range 14 west.

Thanks
there is a huge difference in t11 14w 030 and
t15 14w 030 but then again , maybe I'm missing something
I heard that Chesapeake has a well right outside of Mt. Enterprise Tx (Rusk county) that is in the Villareal survey permitted to the Haynesville Shale. This well is in production and has been in production since the begining of 08' I was told by a local within a mile from the well. You can't find this well on the TRRC GIS Map, nothing, nodda..Of course Devon just signed-up a local within a mile of that well for their "resonable rates" of 300 bucks an acre just last week.
On the flip side, these locals are not forming groups to bargain with the O&G's like they are in other regions of the Haynesville Shale, maybe they'll learn their lesson, but I doubt it very seriously.
I stand corrected on that well Chesapeake has in the Villareal survey outside of Mt. Enterprise. This well was permitted to 15,000' and is now shut-in. Could someone more knowledgeable than I comment on this well for me, senario's?

The well I believe you are referring to is:
Chesapeake's Jane Ross # 1 in the N. Villareal Survey, A-800 in Rusk County

That well was spudded 7/17/07 and completed 9/18/07 with a TD of 13,557'
It is presently shown as a "shut in" gas well. the PB depth at 13,015' is interesting as the Formation tops are placed as follows:
Bexar----7475'
James----7632'
Pine Island--7817'
Pettit-----7879'
Travis Peak--8404'
Cotton Valley--10,543'

Schlumberger logged the well to 13,552' and the TRRC report indicated perforations were made in the following intervals:
8221' to 8223'
8487' to 8748'
8934' to 9264'
10,726' to 10738'
10,982' to 11.540'
12,332' to 12,930'
They pegged the top of the Cotton valley at 10,543' and perforated all the way to 12,930'. That's 2387' below the top of the Cotton Valley. There's no place in East Texas (or any place) that has that kind of section in the Cotton Valley. Clearly, CHK is not wanting to disclose the results of the Ross # 1. There was a notation in the TRRC record that they were considering plugging the well, but would have done so if that really had been their plan. This undoubtedly is a Haynesville Shale development and they (CHK) want to keep it under wraps while they lease up the area--at least that's my take on it. Hope this helps.
Hunter Hillbilly, is this location between the harts bluff road and the fire tower road. I have not seen anything about a unit or a permit either for this section. I have land that is in 31 and boarders 30. I have a feeling that this area is fixing to get hot with drilling. Two wells being drilled just south of you in sec 7 & 8 T10N R14W and one in sec 12 T10N R15W which has not listed as completed yet on Sonris.
Yes we are located on Harts Bluff rd. The location is about 1 mile behind us towards Hunter Rd. The location looks like it is on 2 sections. On one side of the location it has the chesapeake section 30 sign, on the other side it has a sign that has BlackHawk on it. We do not know if it could be 2 locations side by side on section corners or just 1 location.
Are you on the north or south side of the harts bluff rd.
west, north west of Harts Bluff Rd.
Now that I think about it, that is not correct. Harts Bluff Rd runs north & south. We are on the south end about 2 miles from 191.
We are on the west side Harts Bluff Rd.
Yes, I have a better sense of where this well is going to be. Thanks for the information. I will keep a eye on this well hoping they move one section south.
I need to make a correction on the sign on one of the locations. It has Blackstone on it not Blackhawk.
We only have 4 acres. If we lease for say $20,000.00 per acre, after taxes we would come out with about $45,000.00. If we do not sign a lease the way I see it is we are taking a $45,000.00 gamble that they will drill in out section and hit gas. They already have the pad setup and it does say Chesapeake section 30. I assume that means it is in our section 30. What we have to decide is if we want to take the risk and not lease.
