Wanda, Chesapeake has established a drilling unit in Section 27 (April 1, '08 public hearing) and numerous other sections within T15 - 16W. It is part of their "core" area You may review all of these unit applications and their associated plats on the state database, SonRis. As to any particulars beyond that we will have to wait for responses from the other members. Skip
Off Keith Rd. They are putting in two roads. One is a road to the well and the other I think is a trail for pipeline. Yesterday I heard the big trucks putting down the gravel. This is in section 25 I think because it's behind me and I am in section 24. I keep trying to remember to take pictures. This is the Johnson branch field area.
I have 4.24 unleased acres in 15-16-28. Any leasing or drilling activity going on?
Chesapeake has drilled the Anthony Forest Products 28H 1 well. It's a horizontal well with the surface location in the southwest corner of the section and the bottom hole location in the northwest corner of the section. The most recent SONRIS report says they are performing completion ops as of 6/17/09. Chesapeake has a Haynesville unit over this section and has it listed as part of the Bethany-Longstreet Field.
The Anthony Forest Products well 28H is in the SW corner of section 28, 15n 16w. I don't think the unit for this well exactly coincides with the section, that is it overlaps part of another section, and leaves out part of section 28. My land is in section 28, but I think outside the unit. How can I find out for sure?

Do you know your township and range?Mine is sec.28 T15N R16W,Johns gin Rd.Did you receive a letter in the mail from a Onebane Law Firm?If you did it should have a map showing the section lines. We have received one everytime they section off in this area.We are right across from Anthony Forest well serial#239454,and we are in the section 28.Hope this helps.
What does completion OPS mean?
Completion operations. The vague phrase can cover a number of completion tasks but generally indicates that all drilling is completed.
A Cheseapeake guy told me that they had been told to go ahead and lease up as much of section 29 T15N R16W as they could, they already had 70% or so and would probably drill early next year. He offered $1500 per acre (25% royalty) but I am wondering if that is the going rate now or not? Anyone else have any experience in sec 29?
I don't know what the going rate is but the recent state leases were between $5000-$6000/acre not counting rentals.
Skip thanks for the information. Can you tell me what Waiting on State Potential means?
Wanda. Before a well can produce, it must be tested with a state inspector present to confirm the test results. That test is used by the state to assign an "allowable" which is what the well is approved to produce. It's about the last entry on the well scout info on SONRIS before you see the IP (Initial Production) entry with the basic well results listed.
