What a terrible name for a company....Cobra lol. The name kinda says it all. Makes me think of the Cobra Kai in Karate Kid LOL.

i thought the same thing when I saw the envelope....a long time ago Ark-La-Tex Gas tried a similar sham of sending us a check. In re: Cobras & other shale snakes TG for GHS

You do the math.

Yes, people are that gullible, especially if they cash the check thinking it's a royalty check, not a outright sale of mineral rights.

I just searched for Cobra Petroleum in desoto and there are 105 docs where people have sold them their minerals. Wonder how many knew what they were doing? I have 4 of there checks here for trash liners. It is sad they can do this to folks.

Seriously, though, compared to their long-term relative value of the minerals and royalties in these areas, organizations like these will take the calculated risk and minimum expense required to make mass mailings to see what they can obtain. And then they will seek refuge behind the accepted tendered offer as their defense.

I shred the draft and other accompanying paperwork and return it to them in the business reply envelope they kindly send with their ridiculous offer. I figure they will at least have to pay for the mailing twice....
