I was told by Petrohawk that Township 19 in Webster Parish was as far north of I-20 that was being leased. Has anyone leased in Township 19?

Tatterscreek, is it on the Niven Morgan property?
Diamond Oil has a well permitted in 31-20n-10w. This is just west of Fuller Rd and south of Greene Rd.
Serial #240122
I know Diamond Oil had a permit in that section which expired a few months ago but now there is a well going in. I saw the rig come in yesterday and more trucks are bringing equipment in today. There is a new road cut 1 block from the water tower and at the Fuller Rd. intersection.
I know they had some of that section leased cheap and had a chance to better their position when they came back to lease the rest. I would imagine we will see some activity soon or they will loose the lease. Minden should also see some activity by the end of next year, for some of these leases will expire the primary terms.
The last permit which expired was in Township 19. Is this in a different location? At any rate I live about 3 mi. SE on Fuller Rd. so this is getting very close. It should be interesting what they find there.
TC, here is the well information:

Unit #307 Rig, Diamond Oil, Justus 34 #1 Well, Serial #239771, S34-T20N-R11W
Seems we have some activity in T19N-R8W-Sec. 07. The David Mauser tract. Permitted for the James at a dept of just under 9000'. This is obviously an attempt the hold the acerage by production with oil in the area. If they hit they could possibly produce the well without substantial infrastructure. It won't provide any info in regards to the Bossier and Haynesville formations in this area imo because they lie much deeper than the permitted depth in this area. We will just have to wait and see a little longer and good luck to the Mausers.
There was an oil show in this well, a re-drill of serial no. 227073 to a slightly greater depth. This location is in proximiaty to a fault resulting from the Minden salt dome structure to the southeast.
Last word on this well is that it most likely be plugged, nothing to produce at this depth in this location, mostly tar.
Looks like that is the end for the Minden area, just my luck.
WS, not really, if you look at historical gas and oil production by parish, Webster ranks right behind Bienville, Bossier and along with Claiborne. We lie in the synclinal axis of the salt basin with the shale substantialy deeper than on the Sabine Uplift. A good portion of the past production is from the Smackover/Haynesville formation so it is evidence of its existance, besides it is documented. Because of the depth there are not a lot of wells anyone can site logs of current technology to dispute one way or another imo. With this historical production means large tracts of land already held by production, no need to rush so have patiance and faith but it will have to be proven with the drill bit. Not everyone will be on the shale in our three parish region but some will.
I live about 1 mile from Sibley, and my next door neighbor just recently got a letter from Petro Hawk. So hang in there W Sharp, good things will happen.
