I have mineral rights on about 60acres on FM1 just off hwy 21. They are currently leasing. What is the going rate in this part of the county and which companies are doing the actual leasing
Devon has major holdings and are making units to drill out. I woul lease with them if I were you. There are a couple of companies leasing land in the area but they aren't going to drill out. Devon is giving 500per acre and 1/4 royalty. The big bonus money is long gone but they real money is under the ground.
Devon would be the last Operator I would lease to in San Augustine County. To the best of my memory, the only decent well Devon drilled in San Augustine County, The Kardell 1-H, they ruined by pulling it too hard. They abandoned the Haynesville a good while back. EOG would be my 1st choice.
Any current word on the progress of Marco (API #405-30453), being drilled by St. Mary from the same pad as Polo, a bit east of Highway 147 on the old Taylor property?
They are the ones drilling in the area. EOG does not have holdings in the area.. Not enough to form units with anyway. Also, this isn't haynesville they are drilling. James Lime is the formation... Everything drilled in the James Lime by Devon has been extremely successful...
I agree with WilliamS... if Devon is leasing it is for the James Lime. Try asking for a depth clause to reserve the deep rights. I suggest you use a lawyer for that clause and don't let them provide one.
Mr. Bodine, Marco 1H has been complete since last fall. IP was 11.232 MMcfd on a 20/64 choke with 8000# flowing pressure.
How can the county of San Augustine charge you property tax on property you don't own when all you have is royality interest in a well. This is double dipping , the owner of the property has paid the taxes on the property and now they want royality to pay taxes too..DOUBLE DIPPING...
I think it is just like you could sell the land (or your house) for an appraised value and that is what you get taxed on. Well you can sell your mineral interest too (not recommended) and they appraise that and tax it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Oh yeah, the government is the one making all the money on this stuff.
What is group opinion on the property tax assessments on our producing mineral rights -- is a formal protest worth the time and postage? Would it likely result in any lowering of the assessment? Fortunately, most of the $$ do go to the schools and hospital, which is a good thing.
Joe Ed Jones---Sorry to info you BUT producing minerals are not associated with Surface land of property but two separate items--- You are taxed once your minerals produce income (Be happy you paid NO tax on minerals before as they produce no income) The surface owner paid taxes on surface and nothing to do with minerals and of course land owner receives nothing from the mineral royalty income.
I am leased to Cabot, on land in surveys in A-83 Wm Clark,a-238 E.P,Richie and JA brooks A-65;;;scheduled to expire 29th day of January 2013..and eligible for re lease for additional 2 yrs at that point. My question is are the oil/gas companies exercising there options to re lease currently with the price of natural gas as low as it is now? I figure a lot of thing may happen in* months , but was wondering how the trend is going
You might want to check the county records to see if your lease has been assigned to another operator. That is pretty much EOG & EnCana territory so I wouldn't be surprised if someone else holds your lease now. It's a little early for an extension. Look for something to happen in the fall if it's going to be extended.
XTO more than likely but I haven't looked into your lease John1948. I know XTO purchased a good bit from the EnCana boys here about a year ago and those purchases were lands that were running out soon. No clue why they bought them but they did.
Can anyone tell me what's going on with the Harris Hatch GU well that is on 21 East? The api # is 405-30461. They started drilling maybe a year ago and there is still alot of activity coming and going.
I had an Independant Landman give a presentation to XTO on our property packaged as a move to the east of their (Nac county) Walker wells. We are in western SA county. This occurred last year. We haven't heard a word from anyone...
I understand comment from XTO Ft.Worth office to a landman friend of mine that XTO not looking at any new leasing in dry gas bossier/haynesville shale At present time due to nat gas price
Has anyone else been getting offers from other companies wanting to buy their mineral and royalty interest on the Gobi Wells lately? They have even sent drafts for me to sign. ! So far I have had about. 4 different offers all from different companies !
There is a James Lime well permitted on the Gobi Unit and Crimson has just recently made two pretty decent oil wells on their Fairway Farms (537.0 bbl & 0.968 Mcf) and Kodiak (819.0 bbl & 2.232 MMcfd) Units. Gobi is further west and north of either of those locations so there's no guarantee it will make an oil well... but you never know. You might want to hold on to those minerals for a little while.
Yeah, what's goin on here? I guess with the price where it is there's nothing to talk about. I was told late last year that XTO was gonna drill on the past my property was in. I can't find a link to the railroad commission site to look up the name of the well that I was given.
Has anyone else heard from Aethon lately about their plans to extend more horizontal wells on existing leases in San Augustine County? I have received proposed Production Sharing Agreements for my three leases, and it all sounds very promising.
BP does have a Mississippi Gas Unit 1H well in San Augustine Co. API 42-405-30660. This well was drilled and casing set in the lateral in Sept 2018. Assume it has been waiting on frac and completion since then - perhaps due to lack of gas pipeline.

Churn, Harris GU #1H was IP tested in April: 17.446 MMcfd on 22/64 choke with a 7359# flowing pressure.
Btreesow, if you will look here you will find an attached word document with instructions for how to find production on new wells.
