Still no word as to when they expect to do a seismic run on my tract north of Castor. I'm guessing we are on the fringe and they will eventually attempt to map the edges out.
Chesapeake passed on our property near Castor and Jamestown in 16N 8W and 15N 8W. The guy said they may be interested later in the year. I guess we are a little bit too far east.
I have been contacted to permit seismic near Castor. I have learned of Chesapeake executing leases near Saline. Does anyone know what parts of Bienville have been leased by shale players? Is Chesapeake the only company that has crossed into Bienville?
the seisaic exchange is the company doing the seismic work over 4000 square miles in Natchitoches, Winn, and Bienville parishes. they are nearley finished with Natchitoches Parish and hove stared in Winn and Bienville. I was told they would have to finish it all to look at all the information before they went to the next step. I own land in Winn and Bienville Parishs, my Winn parish property is in the NW corner and it was last leased in 1986, no one has contacted anyone in that area in all these years about leasing anything. There is a gas field about 2 miles north of there that comes down the ;parish line but no wells have been drilled in Winn Parish, we are suppose to believe that the gas all stops at the Parish line...
There was a well drilled a few weeks ago in Winn Parish off hwy 126 west of Dodson next to the big pipe line can anyone tell me anything about what they did there, or how to get the info on the well?
We've leased about 300 acres south of Castor (Punkin Center area). We were told that the entire study would have to be complete before any further determination would be made about future leasing agreements or offers. Anyone in that area heard anything different?
Melinda, I did attend the meeting. It was informative with the respect to let people know the process. The rep from Chesapeak said they were not in the area at this time. I think they are from what some of the people were saying. One lady said Petrohawk was making offers for $4500.00 in the Ringgold area. A little talk was about the seismic shoot being done. I do know a 2D shoot was done in 2000 and now they are doing a 3D shoot. The shoot is expected to be finished by the end of the year. Cheaspeak may be holding back till they get the results. I drove through Shreveport on my way to the meeting. There are several wells in Elm Grove and down Ellerbe down close to Wallace Lake dam. From looking at the map it looks like most of the activity is in section 16N. I think we are all in a good spot around Ringgold. It will just take some time.
We are in 16N 8W Sec 21. Last weekend we talked to our rep from SEI. He said we were all in a good area and they would do the shoot between Sept and end of year. He also said they did a 2D shoot back in 2000. I think it is just going to take time for the landmen to get to our area.
We are in Section 26, Township 16N, Range 6W. We have been contacted by a land man who is leasing up a couple section in this area. Has anyone else signed or been contacted in this area. They are offering $500 and a 1/4 interest.

I noticed you have been talking about Sec 11 T15N R10W. Are you from that section. We are in that section and I have been trying to find out if PetroChem intends to do any more drilling there.
Is there anyone on here in sections 25 thru29 and 32 thru 36, if so I am interested in hearing about any lease offers of late, also wanted to know if anyone is interested in forming a group and pooling our land togeather for better leverage?
The Seismic company is in the process of surveying the property in 16N 8W, they said they would be complete with 3D by 12/15/2008. Hope they get good results and things start up after they finish.
Haven't heard any updates on the Wiggins well. Anything new? The last I read was they were at 11,000 feet and changing bits on a regular basis. Shouldn't they be in China by now?
how far east in Bienville is the leasing "expected" at the current time? Anyone have any knowledge about this? Is the Bryceland-West Field area a likely area of interest?
The last time I talked to Petrohawk, I was told they were leasing into 9W going West. This was a few months back, don't know if they are still leasing.
Anyone have experience with Right of way and easement agreements? Trying to determine risk and devaluation of property. Pipline is 24" 1000psi and less than 100' from my bedroom window.
Thanks Wolf, lot's of good information you referred. Line item 26. of that document talks of a "Secrecy Agreement" between landowners. More important "Eminent Domain". I'm told that this "Eminent Domain" for Right of way easement does not apply in Louisiana. Any thoughts.
Transmission line, Connecting to either Tiger Line 42" or Regency Line 36". Guessing it's atleast Intrastate. Transportation of gas and associated hydrocarbons? Is E&E a web page? Please pardon my ignorance.
A friend said he paid 40% Federal taxes on proceeds from a lease in Haughton. That seems crazy! I would like to calculate state and fed taxes on a possible Right of Way. Any clues?
It is my understanding that bonus money from a lease is considered income and taxed at about 40%. Royalty payments from a producing well is also taxed as income, again around 40%. The sale of royalty interest/mineral rights can be considered a capital gain and subject to the 15% capital gains tax.
I do not know about ROW payments, I will see if our attorney knows. CPA or Tax attorney would know for sure!
ELLIS. The current Federal Income Tax on long term capital gains is 15%. In order to qualify for the tax rate on long term capital gains, an asset must have been owned for two years prior to the income filed for tax purposes. Lease bonus and royalty income is gross income subject to the full federal and local income tax rate.
We own land in the Bryceland Field in Bienville Parish. We have a Pugh clause that gives us the rights to the minerals from the Cotton Valley down. 5 wells have been drilled in our section they reach 10,500 ft.
Can anyone tell me how low the Hoss C is in this particular field? I believe that El Paso has already drilled into the Cotton Valley...they are frantically trying to lease us. We are holding out for better terms.
Does anyone have info on the Bienville Sand and Gravel, S11-T15N-R10W. It was fracked last week, what is the production rate and any other info. Are any more wells predicted for this section.
A horizontal well has been drilled. (months ago) but still not frac'ed. Is this common for the oil/gas co's to postone the frac'ing? I see millions of dollars have been spent drilling. I don't know about you, but i would want some return on my money. how long do these oil/gas co's wait till they start producing ?
Can someone shed light on this letter I received please? Had a migraine tonight and am not thinking clearly. The cold front moving my way is hammering my head pretty badly.
Sec6 T15N R8W- The rig has been gone for over a week. The well in Sec 1 has been drilled but Sec 6 well has not been started. Does anyone have info on this well? Seems to me that both wells would be drilled before moving the rig.
You're welcome. Notice is required for alternate well spacing but not for a permit to drill. Once an operator has the field order authorizing the additional wells in a unit, it is good indefinitely as long as the wells match the approved lateral slots. So it could have been months or even years back that the alternate wells were approved during the process where notice letters were sent out. It is not enough to wait on a letter. Interested parties do not receive them when a drilling permit is taken out. All mineral owners in areas under development need to check periodically for well permits in the O&G database, SONRIS.
Thanks again. I am almost certain that we never received any notice letters about these alternate wells. When SONRIS is back up, I will check to see when these orders were entered.

Skip, Thanks for the info. We are in 2-15-10. Shouldn't we have gotten notice of the application for these alternate unit wells? Tom
