Not yet, but I intend to. Being part of a network like this is new to me. I am a property owner in the southern part of the parish. Have many friends in the O&G business, find it fascinating. Directional drilling, etc. Was a roughneck as a "kid".
  • 4HTSG

We were offered $500 - $1500. We got $4000. Might could have gotten that on our own, but we know our papers are in good shape and we got things we had not thought of. We just wanted to get the land leased and let the clock started ticking....they have three years...that's it.

Might not go the same route next time....we have more land in another area that has not been of interest to anyone yet. We are not in any hurry and will wait patiently. They are not far away. A neighbor called one of the companies and they said to call back in a few weeks.
  • msfva

    Haynesville,
First, thanks again for all the hard work here.
Second... On the Red River site you said you heard/confirmed $15,000/acre for a large tract. Can you define large? 100 acres? 1000 acres? or 10,000 acres?
    thanks,
    msfva

Haynesville, I just thought I would give a rough comparison between the Haynesville Shale and Barnett Shale to give some idea how large the Haynesville development could be. Preliminary boundaries indicate the prospective portion of the Haynesville covers ~ 2800 sq mi. By comparison the Barnett Shale productive area covers ~ 6100 sq mi. There are 7800 gas wells in the Barnett producing more than 3 billion cubic feet of gas per day. 200 rigs are currently working in the field adding almost 2000 wells a year and increasing gas production by over 500 million cubic feet per day each year. This growth is likely to continue for the next several years. The Barnett Shale is thicker in the core area but the Haynesville is deeper so the average gas content and recoverable gas per square mile could be comparable.

    haynesville
did encana top lease their pride lease in red river parish????????
can you give a location of this property???????????????
    thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Les Bamburg

My 2800 sq mi estimate for the Haynesville Shale was Louisiana only and did not include any Texas acreage.
  • nisie, not a happy camper landowner

I was unable to post that event at LSUS tomorrow for some reason. Can you post it?

    Chesapeake Conference Call July 2, 2008 9:00am
    Chairman/CEO Aubrey McClendon (Summarized)
    • Win-win partnerships between Chesapeake and PXP - Great news for Chesapeake shareholders
    • Haynesville 4th largest gas field in the world
    • Chesapeake has invested $2.5B in Haynesville
    • Play just underway, data suggest 250TCS
    • Barnett had 50TCS, which is only 20% of Haynesville –
    • Our country should realize how blessed we are as a nation, especially during this time of record high gas prices – can be very helpful in converting to hybrids
    • We are so confident because 3.5 M acres defined as core area
    • These wells are in a class of their own – calling them “triple X monsters” – likely to get better over time – 8th well, 2 days ago brought on the best so far: 4.5-8.5 BCSE

    • PXP partner – deep LA roots helpful as they develop Haynesville in the decades to come – if you snooze, you lose and Ches is not snoozing - Haynesville will develop similarly to Barnett but also differently – it will be easier than Barnett in some ways
  • Heather G

I'd like to request the formation of a new group for Southeast Shreveport landowners. Would this be possible? If so, I will be happy to help get the word out about it.
  • Robert Roy

No, Iam not a doctor. I am a Nurse Practitioner. You can usually READ my handwriting lol.

    Haynesville,
Someone is trying to get people to sell their mineral rights on this site. Harley? Shouldn't they be paying for advertising?

  • Florida Ginnie

    Hello,
Does anyone have any info. on leases for my area? I own 10 acres in Bossier Parish off of Bellview road in Haughton La. I live in Florida and I am a new member to this site. I have been approached by letters in the mail, and I have not signed. Don't know the update going price for this area. I also e-mailed Jay the Geo. and I read somewhere that he maybe on vacation, so am waiting on him to get back with me. Thank You, Florida Ginnie
  • Florida Ginnie

Thank You for a reply. I just don't know what exactly is going on out there In my area in question and don't know anyone. I have been relying on the news papers on line.
    Have a great day.
  • olddog573

starting to hear good things about murry well in pleasant hill. pat todd in natchitoches group says landman told him this will be largest well in U.S.A.! i heard same rumor twice today. i see you live in sabine like i do, what are you hearing? shell seems to be "tight lipped".
  • 4HTSG

I uploaded a picture of the Shell Well, Olympia, in the Big Woods. I don't know if that is okay. I thought the "law school" guy should know. :-)

    Thanks for everything.
  • 4HTSG

I sent a reply earlier, or at least I thought I did, but I haven't heard from you and I can't find it, so here goes again. The Olympia is deep in the big woods, but there are roads through there. We went in one way and came up to it. There was a travel trailer on the left that had a sign out to "Sign In", but no one came out. The well is on the right and had barricades across the entrances to the site. We had been by before when they were all working. We saw no one today. We slowed down and took some pictures from the road...though not very good ones, due to the time of day and the sun. We did not actually go on the well site, but were on the road that ran past it. ???
  • 4HTSG

I meant to say "yesterday", not "today".
  • ken hatcher

If the barnett play leases for 25-30,000 up and this appears to maybe be better...where do you draw the line on a fair offer? some who signed for 3-4ooo a few week's earlier wish they had waited. if we sign for 15,000.00 soon will we regret it down the road? any thoughts???
  • edugator

H - It appears from posts that some of us in SE S'port have not been getting info about organization efforts in our area. How could we get our own group on this site? Thanks for everything, I've learned way more than I thought I ever needed to know!
  • edugator

H - Yes and Yes to first 2 questions (need more info & we're in Caddo). Help is appreciated. I'll try your suggestions.
  • Snake Stewart

Hey Haynesville, I have a question about using info from this site and I would like to know what I need to do. Could you please tell me what we can and can't do as I wouldn't want to cause this site any grief whatsoever. Thanks!
  • Bacon

Thanks. And great job on the site.
  • Paul Cb4/W1

Wonderful site! Please consider starting a Winn Parish discussion group.
    Thank you,
    Paul
  • Natch N3

H- just let me know what that entails.
    Natch
  • Natch N3

    But yes to your question
  • Glenn

I found this site on the web today, It is the BakerHughes site. They keep up with ALL Well drilled around the world. You can zoom in to this area and see where the wells are being drilled, how deep, the type of well and lots of other information. If you think it deserves a place on the site I will let you put it out there. Thank you for your work.

I heard about the site in The Sabine Index
  • Har C2

I need some help organizing a portion of the Haynesville area Parish(s).

I want to add the discussion "Call to Organize" as a featured discussion to get the word out to the Bienville, Bossier, Claiborne and Webster Members.

    Can you help.
  • Har C2

I was Har now I am Har C2 if you look at the Webster Region Map you will see why I changed my name. I want every one to do the same so we can organize on a more local basis (neighbor to neighbor).

    Sub groups in each parish.

Also this Township/Section/Range stuff is hard to follow. The maps I created will help tremendously.

If this works. Desoto, Lincoln, Winn, etc....., should follow.
  • Har C2

    HELP!!!!!!

    Trying to organize.

Can you make these Maps, featured items so they are not lost.

Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, Desoto, Red River,
    Webster Parish Region Maps.

Please help refine and implement this idea.

We can organize on local levels and exchange info.
  • Natch N3

certainly, i'd be glad to help out on my end.
  • Glenn

No, I just found it while doing some research on drilling.
What I liked is that it is just current drilling sites. Sometimes SONRIS and Texas RRC is just too much information. Reference BakerHughes
  • Har C2

I do not know what I did but I think I deleted one of my comments to you. At least it appears that way on my screen.

    Sorry.
  • Scott W.

FYI: On the Webster Parish site, network is misspelled.
    Thanks for the Site!
    Scott W
  • Har C2

My picture shows that I am in Webster. Most people are using the stacked shale rocks as their picture.

If the people were told to upload the picture of the Parish where they own land as their picture then we would instantly know where their interest lie.

The the Region at the end of their name would tell us where the are from within Webster.

Can you help me organize. This will evolve if you let it.
  • Har C2

    Haynesville,

My teenage son started this membership under the name Har. I have not changed it but I have taken it over from him.

I am a lawyer primarily practicing in the areas of real estate, contracts, corporations, LLCs (since late 1980's), not in LA.

I have been researching the Mineral leases commonly used in Louisiana. Perhaps we can exchange information and discuss what makes a good landowner's contract.
  • Har C2

I have changed most of the maps in order to clue a person into the parish referred to.
  • Renee S Cd1

Dumb question - if someone here asks another person on here if they can hire them, is that allowed?
  • Har C2

Check out the new Caddo Region Grid Map. I think I am close tho having the map format finalized.

This is finally something easy to use.

    What do you think?
