I live in section 26 T16N R15W and I received a letter that they are force pooling and applying to get a permit to drill on my section. This is to expand the Johnson Branch field (horizontal well)
I'm wondering about this pooling,I read that it is a good thing, and I read that it is not so good.So I don't know anymore than what I started with(which is nothing). We have two water wells on our property, and I am concerned about them. Thanks for your response.
From what I have read, they must drill or you can lease again. I have seen it written that the bit has to hit the ground before midnight when the lease expires. If it gets close to expiring take pictures every day showing what stage they are in.
Good Luck.

Hey Auntie!!!! Glad u found me on here! I was talking to Linda the other day and she said that you really have been keeping up with all this stuff, and I had thought about getting in touch with u about all this. I don't know if the tracts around us have been pooled yet, but I will say that this section is BOOMING!!! There has been road construction on Williams Rd. since May, and that's the last time I drove down towards Colquitt that way. I finally drove down Williams the other day and I almost cried. All of the land has been cleared back, there is about a 100' cleared perimeter around about 600 or so acres (that I can see). One area, the land has been cleared straight through, as if the land lines were going to be put up. They have about 6 "visible" tanks up, all within 1 mile of our house. I got online and found that there are 8 wells up already, and they propose 8 more, all within a 2 mile radius of my home. They put the first well a couple hundred yards from my house back in Aug. 07, and activity there dimenished, but 3/10 of a mile from the house, on Williams Rd., I see Petroleum trucks multiple times in the evening, coming and going for over a year now. I know it takes a while for it to be "producing quantities" before they pay royalties, but they have been there for over a year and we haven't seen the first penny, and they are in our Section, Towneship and Range! I am pissed because I found out that they have known about the shale for years, and we were mislead. Had we not been lied to, I wouldn't have leased my rights until much later. I am praying that somehow this will be beneficial for us. I am also pissed that we could have paid off all of our debt with the bonus payment that we SHOULD have gotten. Anyways, we are S10, T15N, R15W. how much activity is going on your way?
