Just thought I would add some additional info on natural gas prices. Most natural gas is priced on a monthly basis rather than daily spot. In 2008 Henry Hub has averaged $9.49 per million Btu (about the same as $ per thousand cubic feet). Two pricing points closer to North Louisiana are TETCO East Texas ($9.00 average) and Centerpoint ($8.23 average). As a reference Henry Hub averaged $6.86 in 2007 but most believe future prices will be closer to the 2008 average or higher.
My holdings are small but adjoining a piece of property with just about 600 acres in it, (not leased) with producing wells all around it. Whether the gas is being obtained from CV or Gray Sands, it seems this property should be of interest. The adjacent well is producing over 3000 mcfgd. What is your impression of this situation.
hello Har, i live about 9 miles north of Minden , was wondering if you could share the information from the map you spoke of , i personally havent been contacted by any oil co. just the argent guys, but want to negotiate myself and save myself 5%. crtbrll@aol.com
Sounds like I touched a nerve, but, don't take it personal. Glad to see you are passionate about your position. You may be right only time will tell. I will continue to do my research. Sounds like you have gained a lot of experience as a o/g man to me or a geologist. But you have to understand I do not know who you are or your credentials, you might be an expert or a blow hard. Besides a little friendly debate never hurts. Debate is one of the best ways I know to learn both sides of the story.
Under the law of libel if you contacted me personally and defame me only to me you have the benefit of a "qualified privilege". However, if you publish on this website stating that this photo was stolen I consider that defamation. This photo was not stolen full credit was given to the creator and a link was made to the site, because, I wanted everyone to read that site. I notice you have also made links to that site. I am really concerned about this matter. I will have an attorney research this matter and determine whether or not my actions are in violation of any laws. I caution you not to defame me. In the meantime I will remove this photo until my legal position can be determined for it is not my intention to violate any laws.
The whole point of this site is to spread the news. I would think that oilshalegas.com would appreciate the link to its page. If you are connected with oilshalegas.com let me know because you would be perfectly within your right to ask that this photo not be used. If you are not connected then you need to be more diplomatic with your wording.
Okay, I just did not appreciate what transpired. I will let it go but it was not right. I have permission to disseminate this information. We all should be looking out for one another sharing information not this.
I didn't say let it go. I just said to relax a little. As one that overheats quite regularly , I felt you my have been on the verge, thats all.Do not get rid of text.Copy just in case if that is possible.Haynesville needs to look at this as this is his sight.Action needs to be taken and I feel he will do what is right . He has gone through a tremendous amount of effort to create and maintain this site. The most visited pure shale site there is.
I don't feel this person will apologize either, without some pressure from the front office. An apology may not be enough to expunge what this person has attempted to do.It isn't right and something needs to be done .I believe Haynesville will handle this in an appropriate manner. If you are big enough to let this by , then by golly let it pass. This would certainly show you are a far bigger person then myself.Have a good evening.
well correction, im just on the south side of benson road so that would put me in b-2 if the dorcheat road location is correct, looks to me like the dorcheat road is really lewisvile rd or the map scale is kinda weird looking
Had a question regarding your labeling. When I saw you were C2. I thought you were in Claiborne, second parish, but that is incorrect. Perhaps you should alter it a bit so the person can tell which Parish and then which section of that Parish.
Thanks...I have been passing around your "identification maps" to everyone I see...They ALL want copies! I think you created a "monster!" (Good Monster!) Really Helpful to new gohaynesvilleshale.com members!
It's a little tricky encouraging people to change their profile picture. If enough people follow your lead I may be able to assist more in promoting it. If the majority of people like your system, it won't take much promoting...it will catch on.
Har C2: Thanks for Natchitoches Map...i've posted it in the Natchitoches Parish Network in discussions..hopefully, people will read and participate...great idea!!

Thanks for the comment...we all have to work together the O & G companies are bigger than we are and we've got to all know when it comes to information that we can verify and gather we need to pass it along to all our go haynesville shale landowner because there is no boarder between parishes when information is factual, verified and shared!!!!.
Hello, Can I get you to go over to the thread titled "Clauses" in Bossier Parish Group, and chime in on subordination clauses, if you desire to? Thanks
Har C2 I know you started the post about Cotton Valley area,so I know you are interested in CV info. Just in case you haven't checked it out, 2 wells S#237135 & S#237540 are in the frac stage now. One already has a pipeline laid from it and the other has stakes for pipeline. One of them had total drill depth 12500'.
Har, I got a call from a Sarepta landowner (Old Porterville community, out on Chambless Rd). I believe that would be either C1 or D1, depending on exactly where that is. But he lives in AR, apparently doesn't have easy online access but desperately wants to get informed. I was hoping to hook him up with some other folks in that area. Can you help me help him make contact?
Har C2, you seem to be the expert on maps, so how do I find out my section number? I live out of state, but best I can tell there is some family land in Township13, Range 12 of DeSoto parish. I just can't figure out what section. Is there a map that has sections along with township and range? Also, your DeSoto parish map does not include I49!
I think you might have responded to my comment earlier about a Sarepta landowner - you said have her post on here with her region. But I'm not sure, because I'd asked specifically because this landowner (a he, actually) doesn't have easy internet access. I feel for the guy, trying to reach out to neighboring landowners without the advantage of the internet. Are there any organizations formed yet in that area I can point this guy to?
Har C2, my tract starts on the south at the MidCont pipeline and 159. The Parish Rd to Evergreen at 159 and Pistol Thomas Rd and 159 are in the tract. This would place me just Northwest of the plant. Right?
Thanks and I will. I am currently here in Shreveport due to my Mother's stroke and subsequent death. I return to the area on occasion due to a home and property here. I live in Oregon so 3 hours time difference is considerable. Will email.
Thanks so much for the maps. I live out of state but have good local maps as I visited the area where my family's land is located. I know your maps have helped me and all the other out of the area owners. Thanks for taking the time and effort. I finally uploaded my parish map a few days ago. I have an Apple computer which I couldn't get it to copy the map to my desktop etc. I finally used a friend's pc.
Also, owners may be a little slow to use a map as their photo becuase landman use this site also and will "blast" owners they are negotiating with when they can id them more easily when the owner has a map. TCB DS3
The box where you type your response has a little colorful box in sub header space this is the add a photo link...along with a link, bold, italics etc. Click on add a photo and then you search/browse your computer for the photo.
Thanks. Trying to find something that matches my personality better then my babies picture. Got a couple of striking cobras I can change to when the need arises! HA! HA!
Yes sir, tired too. Tired of hearing people cry because the O&G's wont just hand over the $40,000 per acre their land is worth. Even tho they are only offering 6 - 12 right now and certainly not willing to wait more than 24 hours for their offer to come. HA!HA!
Har C2
Do you know how much it costs to drill a horizontal well?
Are royalties being paid based on the price paid at the well head?
What is the going price paid for natural gas? (which is Y).
3000 mcfd x Y = price paid for natural gas.

I envision using the Regions to locate the vicinity and if you want to get very precise use the Township/Range map.
