Its on the solomon place. 2500 psi on vertical well. It is too shallow to be in the haynesville (lower bossier) so that is even better since there is another layer of gas above the shale. no pipeline or compressor last I saw.

Lee , let me know if you see any progress on your well or the new one towards caledonia.

419-31244 heres the api # of the solomon well. did you see the info on the well in mt. enterprise listed on this site. wow!
  • Gone Fishin

There is no doubt in my mind that we are in a thick area of the shale. However, I am beginning to think there is alot more here than the shale. We are in the middle of something big and I think it will be a little while before we know the magnitude of it.

Is there a map of the Haynesville Shale that shows the counties/areas in east Texas, I live in the southern part of Rusk county and have been told that it runs in my area.

did they have a meeting in mt enterprise?
I did find out that nfr is teamed up with cornerstone e&p and have alot of property leased from caledonia all the way to panola. they leased alot of it last year.
  • Gone Fishin

Good job staying on top of things like that.
I havent heard of anything on them other than the one in shelby co. may have been waiting on a leasee signature.
  • Gone Fishin

how thick do you think the coal is on your place.
  • Gone Fishin

my dad also refused to lease for the coal. I hear nfr is setting up to drill the well west of me too. No doubt we're in the shale. Just wondering how long before the bonus money gets good. Maybe a year...

    Lee,
CHK's CEO, Aubrey McClendon, has pegged the Haynesville Shale--several times in comments to Wall Street analysts --as underlying about 3.5 million acres (an area of 5469 square miles ). Recently he described it in a conference call as "a square area about 75 miles on a side" which would be about 3.6 million acres

The larger it is obviously the better it is for the mineral owners, but it is better for our economy--all of us, producers, pipeline cos. and consumers, etc which includes us all because it increases the likelihood that we have more than enough natural gas reserves to divorce the US from its devastating dependence on OPEC crude oil and finally, switch to a clean, superior, abundant American fuel.

Lee, what is the latest on the new well west of my property. I heard the rig is gone and they flanged it. Will they come in now and perforate it and fac it? It still puzzles me why they only permitted to 13000 ft. Both the chesapeake well west of us and the big well just south of murvall were 14k. And I know for a fact the well Phillips drilled right next to our property back in 80 hit high pressure at 13300 because the mud man said he used at least 15# mud to hold it down. that well was on the highest point arround.

Some info was reported in the Tyler paper. Here is an excerpt and a link.
"When gauged on an 18/64-inch choke, the Boles Well No. 1 potentialed 621,000 cubic feet of gas per day. This well is located 2.9 miles northwest of Wheelock in the Naconiche Creek. Chesapeake Operating Inc. completed the well to a depth of 11,757 feet. Production is in the Rodessa-Travis Peak Consolidated formation."
