I am sorry, I haven't been a good "shaler" and have not checked in much. However, I have a question now. Does anyone know anything about Lafayette County Arkansas. Especially Section 15 and what may or may be going on there. I have received an offer from a company for $75 per acre and want to check this out. I haven't been able to find out anything from anyone at petrohawk or any other oil company in the shreveport area.
thanks,
Keith,
I am having touble moving "please categorize" discussions to their proper place? Not sure if I have the ability? I have deleted what very old posts I could but it is slow going as it takes me back to the main page after I clean one up and it takes forever to get back to the very end of the category.
Keith,
I have been trying to link a discusion about LNG by T. Boone Pickens to this site from C-span, but my computer will not send the video link. Mr. Pickens appeared on C-span's Washington Journal, Feb. 24 to discuss LNG and other energy plans. The address I tried to link is:
http://www.c-span.org/Watch/watch.aspx?Mediaid=WJE-A-15770. You can go the C-span.org (Washington Journal) web site and find the video in archives, but it's tricky to find it. I would like to share this 30 min. video with the Gohaynesville site so other members could just click on a link and go straight to the video. If you can help, please do.
I enjoy visiting Gohaynesville every day and have gained information that I could not have accessed without your hard work.
Thank you,
Max
Hey Keith---Thanks for this site. I look at it nearly everyday. You have done a good job. It is some hard fights at time, but I dont think they amount to much.
take care now.
I want to add my thanks to you for the incredible job you do. Nowhere else that I know of where we could go to get the kind of information we find here.
As a geologist, landowner, oil and gas operator I have always prided myself in keeping abreast of all available information about what happens in north Webster Parish, North Claiborne Parish, and Columbia County. This spans a period of about 55 years. I find there is so much information I missed everytime I look at this site.
Especially valuable is getting to know more of the real people involved. I felt that I knew many before, but this site has opened a new vista for me. I only wish I could get to know more of the individuals personally. I plan to spend more time in LA this year and maybe I can attend more group meetings then.
Hey big guy, I'm sorry, I have to send you a message on your back page, my company put a filtering system on our computers. I can't see any pictures or send any messages but I can communicate via the back page.
Funny you should mention the fishing thing, me and the mrs, just made plans today for Destin trip. I'm counting down the days now. How have you and the mrs. been doing?
Keith. Have a question. A friend of mine asked me when the site was established. I'm embarrassed to say, "I don't remember!" How long have we "been on the air" so to speak?
Keith, Thank you for the Shaler of the Month, I'm honored. I have always done my best to relay the most accurate info I could to relay to all the Great Shalers of this site, Thanks, Joe Dyer
Keith,
What a great site !!!!!! I just moved back to Shreveport, Louisiana from East Texas (Jasper) were things have slowed down.
Before I went to Texas for 3 1/2 years, I worked for a broker and leased several thousand acres for Encana in Natchitoches Parish. I had wondered what was going on in that area and the rest of the Hayesville Shale(although I did not know at the time I was leasing that there was any thing called " the Hayesville Shale Play ")
Your site is the most informative and all encompasing site I have found on " the Shale ". I am looking for work in this area and having your site to keep me informed is really inportant and I just want to thank you for your work and efforts. PLEASE know it is really of benefit!!!! THANK YOU AGAIN

A few days or maybe a week ago I posted on the Political Forum a subject about the La. Homestead Exemption not being upgraded from the $75,000 as set in the La. Constitutional Convention back in "73 or 74", while our property taxes keep going up. What happened that I have not seen you published my post??
My comment is still not in the Political Forum - A few days or maybe a week ago I posted on the Political Forum a subject about the La. Homestead Exemption not being upgraded from the $75,000 as set in the La. Constitutional Convention back in "73 or 74", while our property taxes keep going up. What happened that I have not seen you published my post?? People need to think about this, hence my post to the Political Forum!!
Do you have a problem with this?
I have been in a bit of limbo since things have slowed. I veiw this as not a bad thing but time to gain knowledge of the things to come. This may give us time to prepair for the changes. Knowledge is safety for ourselves and our neighbors. I even believe the recent drop in gas prices may in fact benifit Shale owners ,,, in the larger picture. As the infrastructure gains ground, pipelines... LNG for autos ... plant operations .ect the demand will increase. New options will arise ie: LNG / elect hybreds. Our time will come. I do have a couple of videos I had taken of a well being tested! I would like to place this on the site if I can. The well is in the NW corner of Shelby Co. Tx The hispanic man watching the well stated 2 million cf / hr I corrected him but he insisted this was correct. = 48 mmcf / day . It sounded like a freight train and had a 40 ft white flame. The first 3 ft was blue. The test was at least 9 days that I know of the flame and the sound did not change in that time. If I can I will attach this. You be the judge. I spoke with a man knowledgeable in the field, he said the gentleman was on cue. The well is just over a mile from our intrest. Just to the east of our farm is a well site that was drilled in the early 80's. The men at that site had stated it took 15 lbs of mud to hold down the gas. We must be in a high pressure zone.
Keith,
I am in the Natural Gas Treating and processing business. I joined your webiste on a whim and have been impressed with how much you have developed this site. Great job. Keep it up!
Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate having the forum as a resource. It helps me keep up with activity in the trend. It has also helped me to learn about some of the land issues.
Keith,
we are Object Reservoir. We are active with our Collaborative Exploitation Project in the Haynesville-someone made reference to a previous press release on the forum earlier and we have a new one out dated 15th June. 12 companies in the project. Has a best practices around D&C as well as reserves ("reliable technology") aspect. Not want to blog what in effect is a solicitation though. Just really checking in to let you know that some peole are really getting together to make this baby hum and seriously sharing a lot of data (5 horizontal wells per company).
Cheers

I always thought you lived around the Haynesville Shale area, boy was I mistaken. If you are interested, my brother-in-law who lives in Manassas, Va is a journalist with a Master's Degree. As far as I know, his current employment will end sometime aroung October. If you need anyone to work (even part-time) he may be interested. Please email me. Thanks. (or leave a message on site)
Keith, I'm forwarding a page that a fellow sent me out here. You may be interested in posting it. It may help explain part of this process to some folks.
Thanks for your comment. Times have been tough since the accident. I was working in the Fayetteville Shale Play as a lease buyer and lesing supervisor, but had to come home and attend to the family matters. I am now looking for a job in the Haynesville Shale Play and would appreciate the names of some brokers in the area. Could you give me some direction? Anything to go on would be appreciated.
I'd be willing to be administrator for the Fayetteville Shale discussions. Anna and I own 40 acres in the new Ozark Highlands Unit Area, used to live in Arkansas, both of us born in Arkansas, but now live in Illinois.
