Les, it's your list. I only deleted it because you seemed to have second thoughts about posting it. As someone who makes a living off of research and the compiling of data, I am constantly aware that anything I post on the site is automatically devalued for business purposes. My clients would not pay me for what is accessible free on-line. That is why I only post my HA unit township grid map.
Les, I noticed in listing all the units, that in 15/15, 15/16, and 14/15 , which is where Fossil has the sections they operate. that you listed the various sections as Fossil/Chk. I was wondering if you knew something specific which lead to your inclusion of CHK with Fossil ???
The Longs are distant cousins of mine. They and Pinnacle sold their interest in Bull Bayou etc to CHK some months ago for plenty of $$$ millions. They retained their interest in the Spider Field. I'm still not convinced that there is a joint venture type relationship between Fossil and Chesapeake, but I hope I'm wrong.
I told you wrong, Les. I think the Longs/Pinnacle (partners) sold Red River Bull Bayou and Spider Field interests to CHK and kept Holly Field interests.
Les, do you know where I can download a township grid with section numbers? I thought there was one in the site archive but I have been unable to find it. Skip
Les. You are welcome. I am a rookie. You teach me something every week. And I appreciate all your contributions to the site. One thought, IMO, much of what you do is of a somewhat technical nature and, possibly, beyond the interest or cognitive ability of many members. Though it may be valued by a relatively small number, that subset knows its value. And the time and experience required to compile it. In fact, Jim Krow seems to value it so much, I suggest you start charging him. LOL! Regards, Skip
Les, my family is in a business related to this industry and we love the location updates. But who wouldn't that reads this website regularly? Thanks again for your contributions!
Les, that's quite alright about the Texas side of things. You have been a huge blessing and of great help to me. I think everybody here would want you to be their best friend.
I want to not only thank you for the drilling rig locations, but for everything else that you contribute to the site. I know that when I read anything that you post, I always feel completely confident that it is beyond reproach. We all have an agenda or view point. That is human. But what ever yours is it is so well tempered in common sense, kindness and professionalism that it is NEVER an issue. You are an example of what we should all aspire to emulate. If there is anyone who frequents the site who doesn't hold you in the highest regard they are a complete fool. If I remember correctly, you were the first person that I listed in my "E.F. Hutton" post. If you weren't then I was a fool as well. We have all become so accustomed to depending upon you that sometimes we may be remise in thanking you. I just want you to know how sincerely I appreciate everything that you do.
Les - Congrats for earning a spot on the Top 20 Featured Shalers list. (Like that wouldn't or couldn't happen?) Many, including myself, value your efforts & input beyond words. While some may worry about the $$$$ royalties, I consider my royalties to be the wisdom you & others like you so freely give. Mucho muchas gracias ... sesport :0)
Thanks, Les, and perhaps I try the patience sometimes. I come by the curiosity honestly ... my Dad was always investigating & questioning. Not good, though, when one is/was a teenager. LOL :0)
I just tripped on LA RS 30:41 Part III, Common Purchaser Law (Production of Gas in Excess of Market Demand, Proportionate Production) Not sure that I completely comprehend it.
1. Are you familiar with this part of the code?
2. Is it having an affect on production right now in the HS? I know we're waiting on pipeline, I know prices are a bit (ha, ha) depressed. Could this law also be a factor for not jumping in & producing? (Don't know if I'm saying this well enough to get my thoughts across.)
Les - I just wanted to leave a note here instead of hijacking your topic further. Re. college in the cemetary ... I didn't intend it as an insult, hope you didn't take it as one. It just tickled my vizualization of how you worded it.
I was there about 5 weeks ago for a little fine dining (lunch at Gallitoire's) and a tour of the River Road plantations. We stayed at Oak Alley. Houmas House was the highlight of the trip. Had a couple of good meals in two of my favorite back-road restaurants, Heimel's and The Cabin. The French Quarter was buzzing and looked better than I had seen it in years.
My turn, Skip! lol
I see the legislation debate article, but I reserve comment for now. This is where we get between a rock & a hard place, IMMVHO. Thanks for an accurate take from the other side of the fence.
Les. I suggest that you check out Bill Fowler's profile prior to giving him any information. I don't mind helping landowners for free but IMO Bill is in the business and just looking for someone else to do his work for free. Strange for someone who claims to have been so involved with the Drillinginfo database.
Les. I deleted your list of units in my Snapshot thread and closed the discussion to further comments as I have a concern about Mr. Fowler's activities and intent on the site. If you would care to review Mr. Fowler's personal profile and let me know that you would like to repost your response, let me know and I will reopen the discussion. I have alerted Keith and await some direction from him. Regards, Skip
I had not even noticed that it was for Sec. 20, thank you. I wonder why... Sec. 20 has plenty of open space and not hardly any homes located there and the area recently had the trees logged out. Where their surface site is located in Sec. 17, it is a wooded area that Petrohawk had to be clear first. Well, I still hope that it turns out to be a great well, it is about 2 miles west of my house. :)
Les - I can delete that "stuck in Natch" comment if you want it off your topic. lol But if I can get those boats out of the Cane, we'll be on our way to Alex, no telling if we'll sail on through or get sidetracked again, though. They're like a bunch of kindergarteners on a field trip!
Les,
Do you have any numbers on the Woolworth Foundation 15H (15 15N 16W)? It went into production 5/30/09 according to the girl I spoke to with chesapeake.
Thanks for any information.
SAM
Les, FYI the 22nd well on the Haynesville HOF is as official as it's going to get. Its IP is now prominently displayed on Sonris. The information is: #239163 HA RB SUF ERH LTD in Section 25 of 13/11. The well IP'd @ 22.765mikllion. Lets grow this list!!!
Les, I have been reviewing your drilling rigs by parish and it appears tou have left off an Encana rig in DeSoto Parish, 15/14, Section 26. It is on a 1000' x500' pad and has the ability to "crawl" all over the pad. It is drilling multiple sections from Section 26. They load up the rig with enough surface casing to drill two wells, drill and set the surface casing in one section, then the rig "crawls about 200' (takes about 2 hours) and drills and sets the surface casing in a second section. Any how, I'n not sure what section it is currently drilling now, but it is physically located in 15/14, Section 26 and is drilling! I think that makes 67 rigs drilling in the Haynesville @ June 26, 2009 (an increase of one that I know of). Chesapeake has 23 rigs, Petrohawk has13 rigs, Encana with 6 rigs, Shell with 5 rigs, Questar and Exco each with 4 rigs, El Paso and Comstock each with 3 rigs, and finally Samson, Camterra, J-W Operating, EOG, Forest Oil, and XTO each with 1 rig.
As far as parishes go: 41 in DeSoto, 12 in Red River, 10 in Caddo, 2 in Bienville, and 1 each in Bossier and Sabine. Does that jive with your count???
I'll try to find out the rig owner and # of the rig drilling on Jackson Davis' land for Encana in DeSoto Parish.
Les, I take the family to the Del every summer and have been going since '98. It is our favorite place on Earth and we have a lot of great memories there. Beautiful old hotel too. We just got back a few weeks ago and I thought maybe I could tie two pieces of good fortune in my life together by adding the picture to the site about the Haynesville.
Thanks for the information on the Adcock well, I have been trying to follow that one as it is near our place. I am a novice and really don't know what spudding is, but I hope it is good! Thanks to this site and you I have found the Gas Play Activity map and it looks like they are drilling towards our section below. Would what they find in section 17 be a good indicator of what is under section 20? Many thanks!
we have property leased to anadarko and have aprox 20 months left on the lease. our section was surveyed several months ago and we were told that anadarko plans several wells in the allen area. the numbers i have seen on the messenger well is not so good compared to the others even if it is only a vertical. thing really seem to be getting cranked up around pleasant hill 3 locations currently are being made.
Do you know how long it takes to get a permint? They went to court in April. We never heard what had happend in court. I know that MCFD means million cubic feet per day but what is MMcfd mean? I am going to ask you to be my friend you are an amazing source of information.
Thank you so much! I will keep in contact with you. You are a huge help to this website you have so much information and knowledge. I am really glad I asked you. If you here anything else let me know. Or if there is any information you think I would be interested in let me know. I find the whole thing very intriguing. :)
if you get a chance can you check out a discussion in the Desoto group I started. I want to make sure I wasn't misinforming someone on mcf vs mmcf. Thanks for your help in advance.
Les. Any idea what Anadarko is up to? I was going through the LOC Well Scout pdf earlier and noticed no wells any where in the Shreveport District. Then I looked for wells by organization and the last well listed for them is Dec. 2006. I heard a rumor they had applied for a well permit but I can't find it. They are strangely quiet. No development activity and leases prospective for the shale in their extension periods.
