If you believe that you own your mineral rights, and not the state, then may I suggest contacting an attorney to be sure. It seems a lot of the land around you is controlled by state lease. I am not an expert, so for your own safety, have this information verified by another source.

Is anyone going to contact the Southwood Terrace Area?
All I have recieved is a postcard too. Nothing has been done or said since. I know there was drilling done out there before but not as deep as the Haynesville Shale. Please have someone contact us.

Might it be a good idea to send that check back with a No letter? That's assuming you have not signed a lease with Petrohawk.
