Today I heard that XTO had offered a firm $8000 per acre with $7200 going to the mineral owner. 7% to the lawyer and 3% to Tag. Do you know the % royalty offered and if anyone is taking it ?

Shelia, I live in Beulah and I put together a group with appx. 325 mineral acres. Leonard McCarty of XTO made us an offer of $13,000/AC on July 31, 2008. On August 18, 2008 they notified us that upper management did not approve the offer. There has been nothing further. You can contact me at; bobballard@bellsouth.net , if you like. Thanks for the information.

Bob, the offer was delivered by fed-ex on monday, with a lease to be signed. No one is going to accept this offer. David and the attorney had a meeting with xto yesterday, and they made an offer of $8000.00 or so, but as I understand, they will not be accepting this offer either, and that they will have another meeting in a day or so. Hope this helps.
\What group are you with, and when did they make your offer.

Shelia, Did XTO make the $6400 offer to Tag Holley/David Hall or to the landowners? How was this information disseminated? My group also had an offer from XTO's home office which was rescinded. Bob Ballard

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
