Went by the Olympia Minerals 26 site today and there are two new port-o-lets and there were 4 men and 4 white pick up trucks. One of the trucks was an Atmos truck, the others may have been also. Could this mean they are about to tie the well into the pipeline? I guess time will tell.

Thanks, Dixie, for keeping a check on that well. Definitely sounds like something is about to happen, and I suppose that is the next step for them.

Oh yea, something noticable at the OM26. There are about 10 pickup trucks (Halliburton & others), and some larger Halliburton trucks. One has a big reel on the back with a big cable/wire coming from it. There was another truck with a tall boom and some sort of device hanging from a block which was attached to the top of the well head (?) The wire/cable went from the reel to the device attached to the well head. When I saw it, it seemed to be pulling the wire out of the well. Not sure what they are doing, can anyone tell me?

Maybe they are getting what is supposed to be stuck in the well out? Lets delay anything we can to keep from reporting what the well can do.

Olympia Minerals 26: All equipment was pulled out before the storm and there seems to be no activity since then. Checked on it Friday . There are some yellow gas cylinders there that are marked "safe breathing air". Was told by a worker at the site (before the storm) that the formation had shifted and collapsed the pipe and there was also some sour gas. A windsock and alarms had been installed. They were trying to correct the situation by running something down the pipe and trying to cut through the collapsed part, that's what it sounded like to me.

The word I have from a friend living in T9N is that he visited the Murry well site this past weekend -- 9/20. He said that it looked as if the site was being set up for activity again. Porta Potties and a trailer or two on site. He also said that it looked as if site work was being done to start a laying a pipe line from the site.

Flint Construction has three access roads going through this location to what appears to be a pipeling right of way.

Both of these wells have recent sonris posings saying they are shut-in. Does anyone know anything here?

Again, my trusty neighbor reports both wells have broken or dropped coils down well. I don't know what a "coil" is in oil field parlance. He said that folks in the Murry well area told him that Shell/Encana was going to try retrieving the coil from Murry. The other rumor was that the Olympia well was going to be capped and abandoned. I don't believe that last rumor. Particularly given the flow test results reported by Jay -- 8 mmcfd - he said that was a world record for a simple vertical well. But I don't know what the technical aspects of retrieving a down hole coil involves nor how difficult it is. There have also been recurring rumors that Olympia has had a casing wall collapse. Would someone with a working knowledge of oil field practices please step in and explain what a coil is and what is involved in retrieving one? Also any thoughts on collapsed casing would be appreciated.

I was watching the work going on at the Murray well today. They were removing the coil tubing. Imagine having a steel pipe like a water well going down into the ground. Let say for some reason you took a role of water hose and started pushing the water hose down the well, unroling it as you go. For some reason the water hose stop going down the hole, so you pull back a little on the hose and it breaks off. That is what basically happened to the Murray well. They have a tall crain that pulls the tubing out of the well. If the tubing doesn't break again they should be able to pull it all out. I have heard that this tubing was made in China, do I need to say any more. The cracked casing is like the water well metal pipe being broken, I heard this was made in China, need I say more. I have never worked on a drilling rig and I know there are many on this web site that are experts that may be able to explian this matter better than I could. I am just trying to put the deal into the simplest language that I can. I have also heard that the Oylmpia well comtained a large amount of poison gas (H2S) this can cause the casing to break but that is another something you would have to ask an expert.
