Haynesville Units with & without Haynesville Shale Wells (2/26/2010)

Attached are three Haynesville Unit grids that attempt to show the level of well activity and the amount of units left to be drilled for each township. 

 

The first grid shows the number of Haynesville Units located in each township.

 

The second grid shows the number of Haynesville Units in each township that contain a least one drilled or permitted Haynesville Shale well.

 

The third grid shows the number of Haynesville Units in each township that does not have any Haynesville Shale well.

 

This information does not reflect the fact that some Haynesville Units can be held by shallower production.

Thanks yet again, Les. These graphic representations make it sooo much easier for some of us to retain & recall information like this. Some of you guys do an excellent job IMHO. (Then I don't have to ask redundant questions. lol) That's why I like EIA's and FERC's and others' sites so much.

Any idea where I might find good graphic representations for the proportional differences in mcf, mmcf, bcf and tcf? Or the differences in the amount of ng that are equivalent to a barrel of oil?

Sesport, I reckon it is too early in the morning but I cannot quite comprehend your question.

For the later question if you asking about a straight conversion, based on EIA info ~ 5.6 - 5.8 Mcf natural gas per barrel of crude oil on an energy basis.
Thank you Les for these wonderful graphics! Can you answer a question about the third grid? Does this graphic show the number of permits that have been obtained but not drilled as of yet?

Linda, the third grid shows the number of Haynesville Units (sections) that do not contain either a drilled Haynesville Shale well or a well permit.

For example, T14N-R14W has 33 sections that are unitized for the Haynesville. Of those units (sections), 19 have either a drilled Haynesville Shale well or a well permit for a Haynesville Shale well. The remaining 14 units do not have even a permitted Haynesville Shale well. I hope that helps.

Razorback, generally it is believed that wells and units in that area would be Hyanesville Sand rather than Haynesville Shale. Of course, later information could show that be incorrect. Time will tell.
