About a year or so ago there was a drill site on Hwy 103 about a half mile off of Hwy 96 going toward Lufkin.  I was just wondering if anyone knows the results of this drill site???

Kevin, that was a wildcat to 9200' and all it says is dry hole. It's been permitted as a SWD well now.
Thanks jffree!
I'm new to the forum. My grandmother has a place about a mile from the site you're talking about. What does the term "SWD" stand for ?

Thanks

Just wondering why they only drilled to 9200' since most are being drilled deeper now?
That to far out of the play
They don't know that yet.
Kevin, any activity on that well pre-dates the Haynesville play as it was plugged in '07. I'm not sure what could have been going on in that area as late as last year unless someone was working on the Stokes #1. It is in that same area only a little further off the highway.

The disposal well is right on the highway just east of the Magnolia Springs road, just to be sure we are all talking about the same site.
Yes that is the location I am talking about... time sure slips by, I didn't realize that was back in 07... :)
Not sure what they were looking for but they might have had a nice surprise if they drilled down to 15000'.... :)
ok i live there close by the first well on the left, they made a well about 11 yrs ago. it had six zones. they came back up and hor. drilled one zone. present day they just made a location across the road and it will be a sdw. just a few yrs ago dn the road 1 mile from 96 rosatta drilled a well on the left, got stuck around 8800/9000 and could not retreive it.they backed out above the stuck drill collors and left. they came back later with a larger rig and reenter the well. no luck. and left. now they want to put swd well there.the first well they drill i do not know if it still producing have .not been back there in a while. but all this was done before they knew of the h/s. also a note the first well they drill i was there when they got stuck at 8800' so in this area around 8800' or so is not a good zone for drilling.
