Shale play in NE Shelby around Joaquin will be defined soon (NEWS 12/7/2010)

GoodRich Petroleum spud the R Dean Hay Gas Unit #1H 06/08/2010 a shale test about 2 miles west of Joaquin. The well is in the Pennington and Tuton Surveys N of State Hwy 7 and S of Hwy US 84. Any one who lives in area please keep eyes and ear open and post any thing you hear. The CHK well Harvey #1H to south and EOG Walker #1H to WSW where not good wells. Hope this well is good to maintain value of minerals and chance for all in area with deep minerals to get drilled and placed in a unit.

For lastest infomation see discussion on main page re: stacked laterals--Who has the knowledge-- invoving the R Dean Hays (SL) #1H and #2H(SL)
adubu, I have been unable to locate above today; previously, I could locate this info and had hoped to keep reading it daily as postings were added. Has it been moved, removed, or am I just having problems? I did do some work on my computer. LOL If it is not me, can you tell me what happened? Thanks!
Sorry about above---having some problem such as server or whatever. I have solved the problem and located the above.
The R Dean Hay wells both Bossier and Haynesville laterals were completed about 3 weeks ago and are on Frac Crews Schedule for frac early part of December if all on schedule runs on time. This is lastest information from Goodrich.
Thanks, adubu, for that information about the wells. Seems like I read that, generally, fracing a well is done about when the pipeline access is completed. Not sure about this, but my brother and I own land involved with the pipeline, and it is on the ground. Any idea how this lateral line will tie into the Carthage Pipeline? Are you aware of any other wells anticipated in that same area? Is there a public place to check on activity with Goodrich petroleum? Thanks again, Jim
Jim--yes can check RRC of Texas--- can look at GIS Map and zoom in on the area and see all activity producing and sites of wells permitted. Can look of drilling permits on any operator. CHK has several wells permitted but not drilled yet about 4-6 miles to the SSE and Forest drilled a vertical test thru the shale the Mays #1 about 2 miles WNW of the R Dean Hays SL but not reported yet what they did with well rig just moved off of it within last month. If pipeline ROW on your property ask them they may tell you where this line is going to or connecting with what line and what wells are going to tie in and use it. What size pipe is going in the line across your property? Jim--- are your minerals in the R Dean Hays unit?
Yes, they are. I understand that Goodrich has purchased some deep mineral leases from KCS in that area, and are planning a couple more wells. Of course, I would imagine this would be dependent on whether these two Dean/Hay wells are promising. In what survey is the test Mays #1 located. I have looked on the RRC website after our chat earlier this summer, but was never confident that I could read what is available there. I will try again. Thanks for the info. Jim
Jim Carroll, do you know where Goodrich bought deep zones from KCS? Do you have any idea where the other two wells would be? Like a certain direction, community, etc? Of course, I feel they will frac the Dean first, but I think I may have had some deep rights with KCS who became Petrohawk. I am approximately two miles east of the Dean, but I am in units about a mile from Dean as the eagle flies. I do not think that KCS/HK even has a pumper working in that area anymore to ask.
adubu, sorry I left out the info that the pipeline is a 24" line, they are calling it a lateral line. Jim
That a good size line used for gathering gas from muiple wells to go some where into a major transmission line
Jim Carroll, I meant to tell you that the May Well is in the Haley Survey; it is out Hgwy. 84 W from Joaquin toward Paxton. It was about three and one-half miles W of Joaquin. It is near the Panolal line as that "Old Home" they speak of is near Panola County by the river. The May Well is around what the old timers call Hanson Switch (where trains did whatever in the olden days). There was some sort of internal problem and they may go back later. Someone from Joaquin talked to a lady a Forest Oil and it was "internal" factors involved. (I believe that was the terminology used.) Nevertheless, she told them that a certain gentleman could and would call and discuss it if they would leave their number, and they did not. LOL
(NEWS 12/7/2010) I understand Goodrich completed fracking both lateral this week #1H and #2H R Hays Dean wells and will begin flow back. So hope they will release news on the well initial results thru press release on their stock investor relations soon.
