Can one of you local guys take a look at the C Hereford survey (Section A-17)? I met with a landman (landlady?) yesterday when my mother-in-law signed her lease, and the landlady said that a pad is being cleared north of 103, about 1.5 miles east of 705. This will not be on the road - maybe 3/4 mile north of 103. Encana should be the one getting ready to drill.

I may be wrong on this, but let's give this a try. I went by the area on Friday, and drove around again. When I came to the intersection of CR403 and CR406, I saw trucks with pipe just down the road. I drove a few hundred feet west on 406, and found a security trailer to keep folks out. The guard came out, and I asked him if this was A-17. He pleaded ignorance, said I was at A-43, but a rig had just showed up. He also said that the company had given him poor instructions in order to find the spot. Now that I am home and looking at maps, I know A-43 is several miles to the west, and already has a rig. The TRCC map indicates that you can go south from where the guard trailer is and get really close to where the A-17 pad is. I am wondering if A-17 just got the rig? And if we finally figured out how to get to A-17 (if the guard would let us).
Rowan rig 59 is scheduled to spud on the 19th. If you saw a green gate on 406, the pad is another 2.8 miles down a new green rock road. The directions I saw this week were not real clear but they did say CR 403 to CR 406 and turn left at green gate so I'd say your were in the right spot. Boy, this one is a big secret if they have a guard.
Julie, Encana regularly uses gate guards in Louisiana.
OK, thanks. They didn't use one on the A-43 1H but it was right on FM 1277, in plain sight. They did hustle out to the gate, though, if you stopped with a camera, LOL!
There was a guard on SM Energy's Ironosa in the bland lake area.
I finally made it up to see the BS A-43 2H today. The Rowan 86 is right by the road! Everything looked good. I walked our FM1277 & our FM705 properties to see what the seismigraph crews left behind. There's ribbons, stakes, & cut lanes all over both places. The new well in C Hereford can be seen from 705 just north of 103.
What we been waiting for farmbrad. I am going down that way tomorrow. Hope they get a good well.
It's Encana. They're gonna get a good well! Once we deal OPRA a blow Nov 2nd, maybe we can get an energy policy put together that drives demand for natural gas and get our program rolling as it should be....
OPRA (Obama, Pelosi, Reid Agenda) Go vote San Augustine, let's take our country back!!!
I was able to see the well from 705 also farmbrad. There is also a pipeline crossing 147 just North of 705. Also saw where the seismographic people had set off some charges on our place. Hope they keep moving South.
Have you figured out yet how far the well is from your place?
As the crow flies jffree1 I think just over a mile away.
I saw the pipeline. I think it's the same one crossing 1277. The pipe was pretty small diameter 4"or 6" not sure. You would think they would make a larger line to the area for future growth. I rode by BS A398 on the way to SA. The pad was nice and clean w/ a well head sticking up in the middle. We both need a couple of those don't we JWC...
