Back on Feb 22 Cabot announced they were trying to find other companies with which they could do joint ventures, and as a by product reduce by a third of their Haynesville Shale play - anybody hear anything about any deals they may have done with other companies in the area?  They said at that time they had three deals pending - but so far - nothing in the press.

William, I believe that is the last mention of any JV with Cabot.  I think they will probably do a press release once they have something signed.

From the current Cabot presentation:

Haynesville/Bossier joint ventures in progress
–One closed, two being finalized

Being carried for Haynesville/Bossier activity for 2011 and 2012
Excess Joint Venture proceeds may be used to expand Eagle Ford operated drilling

3 separate agreements would allow COG to maintain about two-thirds of the original 33,000 net acres
1 agreement has been executed and 2 agreements are in final negotiations
Agreements consist of both a carried interest in certain wells and a cash consideration for the sale of other acreage and production
2011: approximately $5 million out of the JV proceeds will be used to perpetuate this acreage
No drilling required until 2013

Permit filed today to change operator to EOG on the Nolte #1H in San Augustine.  I don't know if that has any bearing on this topic or not.

Thanks for the quick responses.  I have a portion of a track that Cabot has under lease (Totin and Walker Surveys), and was wondering what they planned for my lease.

I guess, I'll just have to wait, until they make their press annoucement.

I can certainly see why they would want to use their available capital to drill for oil and not gas, with the prices the way they are.

Thanks again.

Mr. Barnum, Exco is drilling the Walker F Unit #1H which takes in a portion of your Walker tract (I know someone else who has some of those minerals) so you should be seeing something by the end of summer.  I don't know what Cabot and Exco may have worked out on the Totin tract but I would not be surprised to see a well drilled there this summer.

jffreel,

Yes, I saw 347-33215 was permitted on January 18, 2011 - and when I drove by there a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that EXCO had three rigs in place - located South on FM 95.  But, I did not know where they stood with their drilling.  They also recently permitted 347-33214, but that is further West, their permit for that well was amedned 3/3/2011.

EOG also has some operations going on in the Southern end of the Chireno track on the Northern border of the Totin track - so, maybe Cabot is trying to do something with them also.

Thanks for your info - Summer seems good to me - it would give the price of gas a chance to improve.

Walker D spud on Feb. 22, Walker E spud on March 5 and Walker F spud March 6.  Walker A (west of 95) should be IP'd soon.
jffreel, Great info on those spud dates!  Is there a place on the internet, where those are posted so quickly?

I use RigData.com which is a weekly rig report.  You can get the same information from the Baker Hughs GIS Map @ http://gis.bakerhughesdirect.com/RigCounts/default2.aspx

When the map first appears it is a wide view of the US.  You can choose the state, county or basin you want to look at and then click refresh (right) and it will zoom in to that area.  If you click on the info box on the left toolbar and then click on the wells, an info box opens which has the well name, rig name and spud date.

If you click on "attributes" on the toolbar a second page will open with a list of all rigs in your selected county or basin.

jffreel,

Thanks, that was a site I had not found in my Google searches.

347-33185, Walker A #1H:  IP-26.480 MMcfd, 26/64 choke, 9597# flowing pressure.  This puts it on the Super Well list (over 20.0 MMcfd, 8000# (or higher) flowing pressure).

Yep - that well is in the South West corner of the Walker Survey - now, if it were only in the North East corner, I would be a happy camper.  Thanks for the update!
