What does it mean if a well is listed as section 26(23)? Trying to find more info on this well in T9-N/R13-W. We are in S23. Thanks for your help again.

I do not see a well in Section 23 or 26 - 9N - 13W which matches your question, therefore I can not give you a specific answer. If you are reviewing well files on SONRIS Lite, the system of organization is by surface location.   However with horizontal wells the section being produced is often not the section with the surface location.  I suspect the well you are asking about has a surface location in a Section 26 but the PBHL (Bottom Hole Location) is in the Section 23.

Cant recall now where I saw that. And SONRIS is being a pain or I just haven't figured out how to use it. Can't get it to put lables on the maps, so I can't be sure if I am looking at right spot. Just general area of the section location.

Just remember that the well name will contain the number for the section being produced which will be different from the section number for the surface location when a horizontal well is drilled from an adjoining section.

It's permitted sufficiently deep to do so, treeman.  However neither the Hardin #1 or #2 has ever been reported to have reached any deeper than 9,681' which was the depth of #2 last Friday.  #1 and #2 have reserve pit reports showing both open but there are no other reports posted at this time.  Hopefully there will be some well status reports this week on SONRIS Lite.

Has leasing come to a halt in Sabine Parish? Comstock was not interested in leasing an additional 4 acres that my fiancee recently gained a clear deed on. And so far has not received an offer from any other company. Although she did receive notice of request to force pool for her section, we are not sure if that was granted.

As far as I can tell no companies are taking leases for new leasehold.  There are occasional lease offers where a company is ready to drill a section and there are remaining unleased mineral tracts in the unit.  All the companies have extensive inventories of development rights that will take years to drill.  And more dry shale gas just isn't that attractive as a way to spend existing capital.  The focus now is on production to maintain cash flow and to drive down production costs per mcf.  That is accomplished by drilling alternate unit wells where there is existing infrastructure.

She leased her land to Comstock. The force pool was petitioned by Chesapeake. Would they force pool if they weren't ready to drill the section?

They could.  Unit orders are effective indefinitely with no time requirement for drilling a well or wells.  However Chesapeake still drills  an occasional unit well (first well in a section/unit).  If Chesapeake is still active in the immediate area, it's a decent possibility that they will drill to hold that section.  What is her section-township-range?
