We have property in extreme NE Bossier Parish, TS23, that borders Lafayette county and we are getting some lease offers.  This property was continually leased for many years but the past 2 or 3 years it has went unleased. Samson Contour has made the latest offer but I don't know a lot about this company.  The land man says they want to drill for natural gas in the Cotton Valley.  I would love to get some input and some comments and advice from all the folks on here that are much more knowledgeable than I am.  The lease from Samson seems to be the best offer and sounds about right for this area which is unproven aside from some Pettit oil producers in the area.  Kieth, Skip, Aubrey, Ted, anyone else jump on in there and give me some help.  Thanks

You're welcome, Hazel.  We'd appreciate any specifics you might care to pass along regarding your lease terms.  Good Luck to you.

Actually my name is Lisa. I didn't have contact info for the other heirs so I used my Grandmothers name in case one of them used this site they might recognize the name. We were dealing with JB Land. The Landman told me he was working for SM Energy. the property is 46.67 acres (which my Mom owns an undivided 20 acres) in the west 1/2 of N.W. quarter of Sec 21, Township 23N, Range 13W, Bossier Parrish. The landman submitted two offers to us. one was $250.00 per acre bonus with 25% royalty or $300.00 per acre with 20% royalty. Mom chose the 300.00/20%. I'm sorry I can't remember the clauses and stipulations we asked for. I just know the attorney went over them with me and told me which ones we would fight to keep and which ones we could let go. The Landman agreed to everything with two minor changes.

Thank you for the specifics, Lisa.

just got word of a horizontal petite to be drilled.  more info when i verify more information!  Contractor that bid access road disclosed.

Pro hobbs: I've got some acreage in North Bossier Parish..what Section are they trying to Lease you in. I would love to Lease my acreage.

They are leasing in TS23N, Range llW.  I think several sections in the NE sections of Bossier Parrish and on up into Lafayette county in Arkansas.  What section,Township, and Range is your property in?  If you are anywhere near that area you will probably be contacted very soon.  I think they are trying to secure the mineral rights on everything that is not leased up here.  They wont say, but I have a hunch that they know something big is about to break out up here and they want to have some interest in it.  I have heard and also read in some papers that there have been land men in Springhill, for weeks leasing up a lot of minerals.  I guess everyone would hope that one of the major players would look at an unconventional oil play, maybe a horizontal in the LSBD.  The word on the street is that it is NG but I don't know of any close pipe lines that are ready out in this area.  I know that east of Bodcau, there are some gas pipe lines that Centerpoint operates but I'm not sure about over here on the west side of the creek. There could very well be, but I don't know of any.  How long does it take to get all the pipe lines in place to get the gas from the wells to the plants or customers? Years, I would think!  But again,  I'm just guessing and I will admit that I am pretty ignorant about these things.  Not stupid, but ignorant!  There is a difference, you know! Ha!

Pro Hobbs--minerals in 23N  13W. Sure hope you are right about being contacted soon. Any updated info?

Is 13W near Plain Dealing? I noticed in the Sunday Times that JAG had completed another Haynesville Sand well near Springhill and had permitted for another in section 10.  That makes 3 or 4 recently in that area.  Looks like things are starting to get pretty interesting between Springhill and Plain Dealing/Bradly area.

Bolinger area 3 miles north of Plain Dealing on Hwy 3. Approximately 12 miles south of Bradley and 20 or so miles west of Springhill.

I have property in 23n 12w also and was approached last month about leasing my minerals.  Would not tell me the operator but stated they wanted to target the Pettit.  Made an intitial offer which was a non-starter but came back with a better offer and a lease to review.  Still not where I think it should be.  I was told by another landman that serveral of their people were pulled off other projects recently and sent up there.

I also have 200 plus acres in 23N 14W and would appreciate keeping informed of the lease activity in North Bossier.

Looks like most small producers are going after oil now.  Berkshire just reworked a well in the upper Smk and went up to the Cotton Valley, fracted there and is producing some oil from a well in the Mott field in north section of 22 just south of you! I think they are getting some gas condensate also.
