I am just learning how to use the MSOGB myself but know of no way to do that - by county. If I hear of anyway I will post it here.

Well, I have minerals in many counties but the ones I'm looking to research right now are Adams, Clarke and Pike. Thanks for any help you could provide.

Hi Recordman,

I have not discovered a way to do the search you are asking about. I am doing a 'past history' search of deeper Tuscaloosa wells drilled in Wilkinson Co by specific township,range, and section. If I find out how to do recent permit activity I will let you know. Good luck.

Thanks Charles. I've been just going through the permit activity week by week to check on the counties I'm interested in. It's tedious but it's the only way I know right now to check on possible activity.

Have you tried this page in your search for permit info by county? Is this what you are using to search for permits? I just discovered it.

Yes, that is the page I'm using. Just click "well data" at the very bottom of the page. That takes you to the MSOGB Menu page. Then click "permit activity" which takes you to a page with weekly permits going back to 2009. Lots of other useful info on that menu page.

Yes, well, I just found that. That is the only way I know to check permit data.

I finally figured out how to use the MSOGB site to search specific counties by section, township and range! Use the following link: http://gis.ogb.state.ms.us/MSOGBOnline/  or go to the MSOGB main page and towards the bottom click "new mapping website" to access the page. Then click "switch to advanced filter". There you will see areas to enter county name, township, range, etc. on the right side. Enter as much or as little as you need to. Now here's what I had to discover: On the left side there are other areas to enter the county, township, etc. but when you click the button to enter something in that area you get "less than", "greater than", "equal" etc. so I never entered those before. YOU MUST HAVE "equal" entered in the spaces corresponding to the actual county, township, range, direction, section or whatever you entered on the right side. This will then bring up all wells or permitted wells in the area you are searching for. I hope this all makes sense as it has helped me greatly since I discovered how to do this.
