Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on January 7, 2013 at 5:27 AX Energy is a recently formed corporation out of Lafayette, home of many land companies. This is the first mention of them in the Anadarko (APC) Haynesville lease area of which I am aware. The base lease offer in this area is $500 per net mineral acre and a 9/40ths. (22.5%) royalty. I suggest that mineral owners not accept less. I also remind them that the bonus and royalty though important are just a portion of the lease terms. Standard horizontal and vertical Pugh clauses should be included as a minimum. Additional beneficial lease clauses will be a function of location and size of mineral interest.

Permalink Reply by rhonda on May 1, 2013 at 10:17 Yesterday I saw an April 2013 offer in the database for $850 and 24% but it didn't say what part of Caddo.
Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on May 1, 2013 at 10:42 rhonda, if there is a tract in the April auction for $850 and 24%, I failed to find it. Can you give me the tract number. Tract 43186 in the April 2013 state mineral auction received a bid of $1000 per acre and a 25% royalty from Classic Petroleum bidding on behalf of Chesapeake. The tract is in S34-17N-14W, inside city limits near the regional airport. However that tract and that bid are not associated with the Anadarko liquids play emerging in north Caddo Parish.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
