Cat equipment arrived yesterday in Pennington to start road for pad. 3.5 inches of rain last night halted this action. Hopeful for the end of the week. Still looking for drilling permit to be posted.

Rumored that XTO has stopped leasing and pulled their crews ?

Unfortunately, this is confirmed. Heard from 3 sources that received the  same mesage as Vernon even though they had not contested the terms. Landmen reported they had no clue -just came into office and were fired. Office to be closed. Surely someone else will come in and take this over!

Hearing that surveying for new locations in HC is "Drying Up" ?

Sure isn't much activity like there was a few months back. Sure would be nice to see report on Revolver.

Anybody got eyes on that Devon location?

I was afraid that we had hurt their feelings.  :-)

Verified XTO office in Crockett is vacant today.

From what I have learned the Sabine Uplift "kicks in" around Angelina Co. and effectively blocks the "Eaglebine" play and pushes it South towards Polk County but by going South it becomes much deeper.

Not sure if Pennington is too close or not to Sabine Uplift

There is productive woodbine in some areas of Angelina County.  Pennington should be "in" but may be in one of the areas of marginal rock quality that has been mentioned

With XTO, we know they got two wells put in, plus probably are getting data from the Barrow Shaver well.  I'd counsel patience.  Maybe Snoopy can get a flight in if the wind dies down some.

An issue for XTO may be that Trinity County (esp around Pennington) is pretty tightly held amongst a few big lease holders and BLM. Shutting down local efforts to consolidate small blocks doesn't mean that they aren't still trying to acquire large tracts.

There is alittle XTO communcation in the area-they are sort of hovering in and out.  On Revolver there is some in and out activity--some trucks and persons there every day. No start of pipeline connection. No tanks yet. We see tanks coming out of Lufkin Industries almost every day heading west on Hwy 94. But they just head right on through our area. If anyone wants to buy stock with a good outlook, Lufkin Industries is it.

I have heard from an XOM employee - who is not directly involved with this acreage but is familiar with the play - that they remain interested in Trinity County and will continue drilling.  But they feel as if they have secured enough acreage, for the present time at least, which is why leasing activities were stopped. Also, Trinity County is already tightly held in many places, so its hard to aggregate large positions.

Woodbine- can you clarify tightly held?

I;m under the impression that a lot of the county has is not HBP.  granted, there are probably areas with large amount of former timber company holdings, and the government stuff.  I would appreciate any additional light you can shed
