Spud date now projected for 8/4.
Owning a significant overriding royalty interest in the unit I can only say "God Speed to you Halcon".
Then the S D Smith will be a good comparable for your well. Both have quite deep permitted TVDs.: Smith 13460', George Martens 13342'. Floyd expects a big number out of the Smith. I hope he doesn't jinx you. Good luck.
We logged our second well in Gardens Field in Adams County, MS at 2:00 am last night. Wilcox field and we logged pay in the Stewart B sand which was a promising show in our first well which had pay in the Benbrook and Baker Sands with another show in the Armstrong sand we hope to encounter as productive in our next offset or as we develop a field that was a concept of mine I put together in 2009 when they turned the lights off in the Haynesville and I found myself out of work as a landman.
Thank you and finally Lady Luck is smiling on me.

Skip you are a good man and you got a new friend you would be hard pressed to find anyone other than the local power house who is as knowledgeable both with the records, title, and people who reside in Wilkinson County. My former wife is the youngest daughter of Julius Carter who was at one time the largest landowner in the county. Except perhaps other than Federal Judge David Bramlette who is not a happy camper after being threatened to have his mineral force integrated with alternate risk charges. I wrote one of the players an e-mail yesterday and informed them they are in Wilkinson County and not the hearing room at the Oil & Gas Board and that it would be wise to make some changes in company policy relating to negotiating methods and landowner relations. Sooner or later they may realize they are not the big dog as thought but merely a tail try to wag the dog. I appreciate you furnishing me this info. I am in your corner if you need me for anything.
Thanks, William. MS mineral law as it pertains to forced integration makes a lot of folks mad. It often strips mineral owners of the opportunity to negotiate in good faith. Only the MS legislature can amend the mineral code. I suspect that more than a few legislators are getting some irate phone calls and emails on the subject .
The legislator from Natchez gets a lot of calls but never answers or returns any of them. It is ironic you mention this as the partner who did the actual initial acquisition of the royalties I am offering made the Jackson newspaper the Clarion Ledger in a political scandal the legislator announced to the press and I watched on TV saying she never met my old buddy who often lacks good judgment as he and two others were arrested in a political scandal in a failed attempt ending in the election of Sen. Thad Cochran when they made a move to discredit the Senator. Despite her remark denying knowing or being involved with any of the three conspirators if I needed to make contact with her I had to use my old buddy who was using an alias on facebook which I knew at the time and face was the series of dots in the investigation that connected them all. One of the three was a Jackson attorney and as a complete surprise to all who new him he chose a permanent solution to a temporary problem when he took a pistol and blew his brains out rather than face the consequences and shame of making the Watergate bunch look like choir boys. I don't get involved in politics as I see politicians as just the same who dine at the public trough and play the fiddles while Roam is burning. Nobody can change what is a rigged game on the sports field, Wall Street or our nation's capitol.

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
