KB posted this discussion a while back and it was a lot of fun. I thought I would bring the subject back up since there are so many new people.

Hi Kassi,

Glad to see you back. I've been wondering where you've been.
Kassi, my daughter likes Nickelback, Country, -N- Rap!!!
Otis Redding - Sittin' on the dock of the bay.
Here goes from the ancient one:
The Temptations
The Four Tops
Barry White
Pretty much anything MoTown
The Beach Boys
The Carpenters
and even The Captain and Tenille.........who doesn't like Muskrat Love????
And Crackling Rosey!
Coming to America?
O.K., I'll date myself. I grew up on a strong diet of Motown R&B. Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, The Chi-Lites, etc. About middle school I got my first stereo. I then discovered Rock and Roll. Styx, Kansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, The Outlaws. About college, we had 1 real radio station on campus. Lotsa Sex Pistols and Dead Kennedys. Discovered the Punk scene big time. Didn't suscribed to the wardrobe and lifestyle, just the music. I actually saw The Pretenders and The Talking Heads. Kinda, sorta remember the shows too. Also at Urbana-Champaign, I delved back into the classisc rock thing. Pink Floyd, Led Zep, The Who (lotsa Who), Jimi, Janis. And lastly, while at school, I found blues. The music I truly identify with.

On my hard drive in my vehicle and on my phone are:

B-52's
Queen
Tupac Shakur (oopps, didn't tell ya'll 'bout that. Mid 80's discovery.
Dave Matthews Band
Santana
Steely Dan
B.B. King
John Lee Hooker
Keith Sweat

Basically I'm a musical schizophrenic.
Great music Cannie. I'm pretty much bi-polar myself when it comes to my music!!
GD - Janis & Jimi ... Monterrey Jazz Fest?
Also some scenery. Nights we could hear the seals barking in te bay all the way up in the hills. Cannery Row (though much changed now from what i knew) exactly as Stienbeck penned it. The thrill of seeing the gray's migrating, as close as they did to shore, and being that close to a creature that size and yet so graceful. Otters ... could watch the otters for hours. Nights ... Alvarado St. was forbidden to us as teens, but somehow we'd go see what could be seen.

But where then did you see Janis & Jimi?
That stage wasn't spinning was it GD. You didn't see any clocks melting or you didn't feel like you could fly.
