I understand that you will be doing an indepth interview with Mr. McCotter as well as the A-Man himself later this week. Could you tell them both that I said Kiss My Shale?!?!?
Earl ... pour me a drink.
That well is about a mile or 2 south of me so it is probably 15/15 or15/14
Its just north of Springridge.

#238427 Alexander ? If so, looks like there were already issues.
Just goes to show that there is no such thing as a sure thing.
Went past there last night, shreveport police guarding entrance. It is acually where Indigo well is. Neighbor told me they are putting in another well beside Indigo so I don't know which one had the problem. Lots of heavy equipment brought in Wed morning.
Workers this evening were close to capping a natural gas well blowout near Spring Ridge, La.

Chesapeake Energy's Kevin McCotter said crews are continuing to monitor the air quality at the scene and the emission of natural gas continues to be very minimal.

There was no explosion or fire when the well blew about 2 a.m. today. McCotter said that on a scale of 1 to 10 -- with 10 being a blazing well and leaking natural gas -- "This is a 1."

There have been no evacuations.

Nearby residents like Ed Thomason are philosphical about "blowouts" like this one. Thomason expects there will be more as drilling for Haynesville Shale natural gas increases.

"If you want the money, you have to put up with the risk," he said.

The well is in a thickly wooded area off Louisiana 169. The nearest house is about a mile away.

One worker suffered minor injuries when the well blew.

From Jim Roberts, KTBS News Now
There is a house within a mile.
There is a house within 1/4 mile. I know the man personally. He said the explosion woke him but when he looked out his window he saw no flames. He also said nobody has ever spoke to him about what happened. The well is not in his section as the line is between him and the well. He is more restrained than me.
Fill a small paper bag with air and then smash it between your open palms. You don't need flames to make a boom.
