Being a resonable person, I will continue to try to understand why my tax $ should bail out people who did not plan properly (hell, I had to give 41% of my lease bonus to the government in addition to my regular taxes). Maybe if I spent the Haynesville $ that is for Uncle Sam the government would pay the taxes for me because I planned poorly...................
Just because I was careful, frugal, skipped some vacations, did not eat many meals out I should bail out others who were irresponsible and do not want to take personal responsibility?
I'm really gonna try to understand this.
I do have compassion, but golly gee whiz............I really have a hard time with this.
Jack Blake will ponder............................
That's BS Cathaus. God wont set your alarm clock. Jack Blake knows that. The "idiots" he referrs to did not.
Your assumption that he had a death in the family or a medical emergency is flawed, but I do agree that Bush is liberal.

Tax increases just in the form of the rich man's deductions?
What about Obama's 650 billion new energy tax that will be paid through energy usage by everyone? I heard auto fuel will go up by a $1.50/gal and who knows how high electric bills will go. Imagine being laid off because of those taxes and then having to deal with those increases. I heard them saying they were offsetting those increased costs to the poor with that extra $13 poor folks will be seeing in their pay checks, assuming they will still have a job.
That campaign slogan that everyone thought said "Yes We Can" has "Changed" to "Yes HE Can"!
Jack Blake was not the only one who planned and bet correctly for the most part. Tha majority of Americans did. It is a minority that gambled on house prices rising and took ojn loans greater than they could handle.
I do not buy the BS that in Louisiana you could be out of work for 3-6 months or longer if you want to work. People who want to woirk can find a job.
As far as the rest of your rant KB, I am just a simple country bumpkin and do not understand all of what you talk about. I gather you are brilliant and a Democrat.
I guess I'm just to simple minded..........Trying to understand all this makes my head hurt.
One thing I do know..................Long Live the Haynesville Shale cried Jack Blake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KB:

What's with the Nazi stuff??

Wondering.

I take your not a Republican, lol. ok, sister let's make these threads a little shorter. I don't have time to read a novel.
KB: my my. You seem to have a problem with Rush. Could you quote a specific issue he's addressed that you find to be a problem? And don't go to the pain killers or anything else. What in the last 3 years has he said that is a problem?

Yes, I'm a ditto head, guess that wasn't tough to guess! I think the man makes a lot of sense and he is a gifted orator. And he doesn't even need a teleprompter!!

My biggest issue with my man Bush is that he wasn't a conservative. He cut taxes; great, great move. I think economically it was the right thing to do. However, he failed to do two things that caused problems. 1) he failed to reign in spending. Big mistake. That should have been part and parcel to the whole plan. Without cuts, the plan won't work. Now, tax cuts do increase tax revenues...look it up. Go back as far as Kennedy; tax cuts yield higher revenues.

2) he failed to control our borders which has ended up with a head rush of illegal aliens who are sucking our system dry. I agreed with his invasion of Iraq and I wish he would have invaded our border areas. Those border areas should be patrolled just like they are on the Mexican side. Ever try to sneak into Mexico from the Central America side?? Failing to enforce our immigration laws has caused problems that will be impacting us for years to come.

So, I have a beef with Bush, but given the alternatives presented (Gore and Kerry) I would still vote for him all over again. Sorry, but I can't imagine how much worse it would be had Gore or Kerry been in power. Those two guys are disasters waiting to happen.
Agree that many middle class are in the blame boat. They bought too much house! I see couples with 3 kids and they are in their early 30's living in $500,000 homes in Texas...which is about 3 times the "average". There is no way, short of a rich uncle or dead rich parents, that these couples should be in these homes. So yes, the middle class are in this one.

There are some at the bottom of the scale that shouldn't be owners of homes either. Yes, the banker offered them an ARM or other low rate mortgage but the paperwork shows exactly what happens in the WORST CASE SCENARIO the house note. These guys ignore it and signed anyway. Sympathy? Nope.

Now if job loss, health issues, etc. led to this, then I've got some empathy. But if its just a matter of the note going up, no empathy.

And BTW, I do not believe in bailing out the mortgage companies either. They need to take this on with their "big boy panties" on and suck it up. I believe the bail outs went to them due to worries that they couldn't take the losses and they would fail. Then this would create a rising tide of problems that would take the banking industry down. And since we all have money there, you don't want that to happen. The FDIC protection isn't worth squat if all the banks go down in one heap! Even at 100% tax rates, we can't fix that one! Darn, just gave Nancy Belosi another idea! Maybe she was getting a botox treatment and didn't see that one!
Finger pointing isn't productive at this point. The question is what Obama, Nancy, and Harry are doing now will do any good or make things better?
There doesn't appear to be a lot of folks who are very happy about riding on that plane in this ice storm with those folks sitting in the pilot's seat.

OBAMA'S TWO-WEEK RECAP
1, The American people elect a president with a total of 42 days experience as a U S Senator from the most politically corrupt state in America whose governor is ousted from office. The President's first official act is to close Gitmo and make sure Terrorists civil rights are not violated.
2, The U.S. Congress rushes to confirm an Attorney General, Eric Holder, whose law firm we later find out represents seventeen Gitmo Terrorists.
3, The CIA Boss, Leon Penetta with absolutely no experience, has a daughter Linda we find out, that is a true radical anti-American activist who is a supporter of all the Anti-American regimes in the western hemisphere.
4. We got the most corrupt female in America as Secretary of State; bought and paid for.
 5. We got a Tax Cheat for Treasury Secretary who files his own taxes.
 6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption charges.
 7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew under charges.
 8. A Labor Sec'y nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical conduct.
 9. A Sec'y HHS nominee who withdrew under charges of cheating on his taxes.
And that's just the first two weeks . . . but who's counting.
America is being run by the modern-day Three Stooges ~ Barrack, Nancy, and Harry ~ and they are still trying to define stimulus.
Stimulus is where the government gives a smidgen of your tax dollars back to you making you feel so good about yourself [stimulated] that you want to run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new Chinese-made HDTV and go home and watch Telemundo!
OBAMA =
One Big Ass Mistake America

UPDATE 3/2/2009: AND NOW, WITH HIS FY 2010 BUDGET, HE WANTS TO KILL THE HAYNESVILLE SHALE.
