I suggest people look at the following EnCana presentation (2/24/09) that provides some new information regarding the Haynesville Shale play. Of special interest is is the map on page 8 that shows the play extending quite a bit further to the south and southwest than previously shown. This will be of particular interest to those located in some of the Texas counties. Also on page 8 is some information on the mid-Bossier play that looks promising. EnCana's Colbert Timberlands H1 well is flowing ~ 4 MMcfd from the mid-Bossier with only 3 frac stages. Finally it appears the Blackstone 12 #H1 must have tested at 21 MMcfd which is EnCana's highest rate to date.

Thanks EF Les
Les B or anyone,

What do you think the yellow and green blotches on the map represent? RDS & ECA leaseholds? If so, they have a stranglehold on Red River Parish.
Who is RDS?
Parker, Royal Dutch Shell.
What do you think the shale thickness is in 17n 15w.
Anyone?
I Alexander, based on wells north & and south of there, the Haynesville Shale thickness should be 200' - 283'.
Sorry for delay, got stuck on this site looking around. :0)

Mr Hanky, I am guessing the yellow is leased acreage (370,000 net acres) while the green would be mineral interest (63,000 net acres). The ECA & RDS acreage should be shown together because it is covered by a JV agreement.
That's a plausible explanation. Thanks for helping me make sense of this.
By the way, I now believe the green oblong shape on the lower part of the Petrohawk map could represent the mid-Bossier trend.

I'm technology constrained or I'd do it Les, but you might want to add Encana's new "blob" to the mix on your blob maps. It is a little different.
