Parker, clearly the drilling of HS horizontal wells will allow operators to log the shallower Hosston & Cotton Valley formations in many areas that would not otherwise be tested. These shallower formations (if natural gas is present) could be produced in one of the following manners:

1) Separate horizontal well
2) Separate vertical well
3) Separate completion in HS wellbore (ie dual completion)
4) Add perforations and commingle gas with Haynesville Shale production (either initially or later after HS has been produced for several years

The method chosen will depend on many factors such as the size of the Hosston and/or Cotton Valley gas reserves.

Jim: what are you thoughts about different tiers and areas of the shale. I have noticed they have different tiers and core areas and non core areas in the Barnett shale. In what way will the Haynesville shale be broken down and have you seen any of the information making these break downs?

Hi Barry:

I like Mainland. They have a good geologist (Simeon Horton) and the CV and Hosston PUD's look good as do the #'s in their HA discovery. TW McGuire & Assoc. did their reservoir engineering, they are a highly respected, very conservative firm.

Jim Krow is of strong opinion, and not much more.

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anything you have said.
But please tell me, what in the world could be your credentials?
How can any one person know everything about any known subject?
One thing I have learned on this site is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And that your own opinion may not always be the "only" right one.

I'm just a landman who has put his own money at risk to explore for oil and gas. They call people like that oilmen. You get to know who's good and who's not when you put your own money at risk in this business.

I know the geologist and the engineers that discovered and did the volumetrics on this area. They are good at what they do. I know them by reputation and I know them personally. They reported their numbers and I believe they are honest numbers because of what I know about the people.

Jim is entitled to his opinion. Its just generally wrong, IMHO

And as you said, it is just your opinion that he is generally wrong.
I know your opinions are often reasonable. But that doesn't make most of the other people on here wrong.

It all just opinion and others will decide if Jim is right for them.

I based my decision on Mainland on my knowledge of the people and their reputations. I'll leave it to others to weigh which carries more weight.
