It seems like Jurassic Exploration from Oilvoice was the fuel for this group's fire. It seems like the conversation only heats up when JE makes a positive post regarding our area. If I knew who they were I would invite them to come join. Seeing the positive news out the last few days regarding wells from Southwestern, Cabot, and Eog and Petrohawk on the county line between Nac and SA I am thinking JE must be on to something regarding the deeper part of this play in Texas.

I hope they (JE) are on to something ALongview. All the maps from the O&G Companies show the majority of SA in the play. I think when the price of Gas goes back up and they start making some money they will be all over SA and Sabine Counites. I don't understand why they haven't leased some more land farther south to tie up some units down there. There has been quite a bit of land leased south of 96 and 103. Guess they still have a couple of years before these leases expire so they are in no hurry.
JWC, There is a Hayesville well permitted far South in Nac. I would think that if this is successful it will be an even better sign for the Southern part of SA. All of the more recent maps do have SA almost completely in the shale and I think it's just a matter of time until all of SA beecomes very attractive.
What well is that ALongview? I looked on TRRC. Lots of wells permitted in Nac. county. Several east of Nacogdoches.
It is the Justin well in the J. Gomez survey. API 347-33012. Vertical to 15000'.
Found it. Thanks ALongview. That well was permitted back in Dec. 08. Should hear some results from that well soon.
Hi Guys! I read the posts from JE with the thought in mind that this is someone who (a) either has leased up some acreage and wants to stir up interest in the area (so they don't end up holding the bag) or (b) its a land/mineral owner trying to keep interest going for the area (probably still unleased). My bet is on (B) and I even have someone in mind when I say that. I won't say any more until I can back it up 'cause for now it's just MHO.
Someone in the business is not going to tout bonus prices of 20-30K, I don't believe. It's fun to read but take it with a grain of salt, please...
Jffree1, I thought they were entertaining but thought the last few were specifically written for our benefit. As we posted them, they became more frequent. They did spark some more activity on the SA group of the site however.
I think you are right, ALongview, about them being written for our benefit. And they are very entertaining. I hope, along with everyone else, that there might be some shred of fact to back up what they have posted but, so far, they have not posted anything substantial to back up their opinions.
This post on June 08, 2008 has proven to be somewhat correct. These are pretty hot areas right now. I agree that a lot of the posts are for entertainment. I think whoever it is might be getting some information from someone in the O&G business.

Northern Half of Sabine And San Augustine Counties, Texas
This could be the mother load of gas reserves as to the Haynesville Shale Play. Its going to be high pressure and hot as to bottom hole temperature, but the reserves should be great. When you combine the James Lime, Pettit,Cotton Valley, Haynesville and Smackover potential one should conclude the risk versus reward potential for the counties is very good.
I think there is no question they have some understanding of the Haynesville or some inside contacts. They have certainly been more accurate in their predictions than alot of others. They may however have some personal interest also in higher lease bonuses(20k-30k). This doesn't mean in any way they are not knowledgable. I would like to chat with them over a few beers and find out where the info comes from : ) . I enjoy their opinions and predictions. It is certainly better than all the gloom and doom out there.
That's right ALongview. Would the real Jurassic Exploration please step forward!!!!! We know you are watching this site.
HAHA - good luck!
