QUESTION ABOUT PROS AND CONS IN GIVING PERMISSION FOR SEISMIC TESTING

I WAS RECENTLY APPROACHED FOR PERMISSION TO HAVE A CABLE RAN ACROSS MY YARD FOR SEISMIC TESTING. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THE PROS AND CONS OF ALLOWING OR DENYING PERMISSION?

Ok. What is the going rate for this? Is there something that will be left on the property long term or do they fill in the 300 foot hole?
If they are wanting to permission to drill, it would be a burried array. A geophone will be placed in to the hole for the length of your contract. Every once in awhile, there will be guys that will access your property whenever they are needing to take reading of the area (fraccing of the wells nearby, etc.)

In my honest opinion, it will not be bothersome to you. Just make sure to put call prior to entry, so you can be notified before anyone enters your property. This will help the royalty owners around you as well. Eventually, the whole formation will be monitored via microseismic.

Here is a little more information..Hope it helps

Okay, it makes a bit more sense now.
In addition to the previous question, I have been approached about 3-D seismic testing and I was offered $25/acre. This is in Bossier Parish, Cotton Valley Formation. Anybody have any input whether this is a fair offer?
Thanks
I think that is the standard offer for local seismic, but unless it is in North Bossier, I'm guessing the seismic is primarily for the Haynesville formation.
