Who is telling you to pay a lawyer $500 per acre and who is the attorney?
The only way an atty. should get anything is if you hired them to negotiate the lease. I am curious to know if a landman approached you directly. If so, everything should be between you and the landman.
Mr. Bohannon - the warning is in jest. Some people think I'm an electrician like my brothers. My firm are Oil & Gas attorneys and have been before for years before all this "Haynesville Shale" play started. I'm in the process of putting tracks of land together for bid, including my family property east of Hwy 71. I'm extremely happy for you. Do not dismay. If you cannot talk until after the 15th, I understand. I want to talk about information. Who is leasing? Terms? (Not just bonus, but surface rights/damage, pipeline, costs of production, saltwater issues, timeframe for drilling). I'm not asking to represent you, just to talk and share information.
Mr. Bohannon - I own the property at the raceway and land around it with my brothers. I would like to talk to you. Warning, I 'm a lawyer by trade! Please e-mail me at timw@wilhiteelectric.com. Look forward to talking to you.
