2010 Unit Application features/trends I've noticed upon review, year to date.

This morning I woke up early and used it as an opportunity to review the Unit Applications that have been filed for 2010. Several things jumped out at me after completing my review:
1) Petrohawk has been very busy. A very large number of the Unit Applications for 2010 so far have been Petrohawk's.
2) As Les B has mentioned before, Devon filed for four Unit Applications in the Caddo Pine Island Field, well north if I-20. They created Haynesville/Smackover/Cotton Valley units. Is there much Smackover production in Caddo Pine Island???
3) Many of the Operators (Chesapeake, Petrohawk, XTO, Encana, Comstock, etc.) are beginning to file for alternate unit wells in a number of sections in the play. The volume surprised me as there are still so many undrilled sections, but it should lead to multiple Hauynesville wells in many sections.
4) Chesapeake filed an Alternate Unit Application for a Horizontal Cotton Valley well (Skip, I think it's the real thing) in T14N,R10W, Section 10. The Conly 10-14-10H-1. Don't recall CHK drilling many horizontal Cotton Valley wells lately, but it would be a nice trend to see develop.

All Section 19's have a township and range attached to them. What is the township and range of the particular Section 19 that you are referring to that has 3 wells in it, James???
JAMES. If you will post the township and range, I will look at the wells you mention. Wells in the same section may be classified in different fields but they are all in the same township I can assure you.
They are Sec 19 11t 12r
Sec 19 12t 13r
Sec 19 14t 13r
Sec 19 14t 14r
Wondering will all owners in Sec 19 receive royalties from each well
You are mighty confused, James. As I have attempted to tell you, James, Section 19 of T11,R12 has its own distinct group of royalty owners which are separate and apart from the Section 19 in T14,R14 which also has it's own group of royalty owners which are separate and apart from the Section 19 in t14,R13 , which has its own group of royalty owners, and so on and so on. There is a Section 19 near Mansfield , La and several section 19's in Shreveport, La. Surely you can understand that they are owned by different people and as a result have a completely different group of royalty owners. The bottom line is that there are many DIFFERENT Section 19's each with a completely different group of owners(both surface and mineral). I'm not sure I can explain it any better than that without having both you and a map at a conference table!
Thanks got it!
If it is in a different township and range, it is not possible to be in your section. The well may have the same section number as your section but it will not be your actual section. Remember, except along the river, they basically use 36 different section numbers. So each township will have a section 12 or a section 33, but it will not be the same section 12 or section 33 that you have in your township.
