Has anyone heard of any recent leasing activity southwest of Marshal in the Sabine Mining company reclomation area?

We have serveral hundred acres leased to Sandridge, but they lost rights below the Cotton Valley.  We have been approached, but the offers are less than desireable.

I don't think they lost the rights below the Cotton Valley. I think I remember them saying they sold the rights to the Haynesville/Bossier. They continue to state that they prefer to drill conventional formations. If I can find the press release where they talked about selling deep rights, I will post it.

In the meantime, what survey(s) are you interested in?
We had a Pugh clause in our lease. W.W.O. Stanfield Survey A-634
Gary, Take your lease to an Oil & Gas attorney and have him prepare a letter to Sandridge asking them for a release on the deep rights. Once that release is filed in the county it's a matter of time before a landman finds it. It shouldn't cost more than an hour of the attorney's time to do that and it makes public the fact that you have deep rights available for leasing.

Most of the drilling activity has moved south of I-20 but not very far. Eventually someone will take notice. NFR and Unit Petroleum have both drilled Bossier wells to your west. Anadarko is permitting wells to your Southwest.

Good Luck
I greatly appreciate your help. I have a letter prepared and trying to find the right person to get it to. we are just south of FM 968, so we are south of I-20 and it seems to be an area of ever increasing popularity.

I am working to get this finalized for family and friends and doing the best I can on their behalf.

Thanks again for the advice
