EnCana Moving Southeast in Red River Parish (2/9/10)

EnCana has permitted a Haynesville Shale well in T12N-R8W.  This well location is further southeast than any previous well in the play and will provide key information about both the Haynesville Shale and Bossier Shale in that area.

Jay, this may help explain why Petrohawk maps the Bossier Shale extending further south than the Haynesville Shale.

what and where is the Sabine uplift? How will it effect leasing in that area for the future?

I always wondered if the Messinger didn't have multiple zones it was producing from. Do you think it has horizontal possibilities?

I suspect it's due to hole temperatures. Also, formation dips are around 3 degrees.

Nicole, the Drilling Rig Locations Group (see link) lists all the currently working rigs on Haynesville Shale wells by area. You should be able to check the web for contact information for each drilling company and well operator.
