Skip, so the red is intended to show the boundaries of the play only?
SB. The townships shaded in pink are those with at least one Haynesville Shale drilling unit. This is a reasonably simple way to depict the extent of the Play but, IMO, does not give sufficient detail and could be misleading. A scale that would allow shading of sections with wells completed and drilling is impractical for this format. I used the black and blue numbers in an attempt to indicate where new units are currently being formed and added rigs operating in selected townships to indicate that though they have units, in some cases quite a few units, they have few or no completions. These townships have not been proven. The townships that do not have a number for rigs drilling IMO have sufficient development activity and completion data to consider them safely within the boundaries of the productive shale. I am attempting to add additional information without making the Snapshot map too confusing. After I came up with several new versions I considered this one the best and thought I would solicit some feedback.
Skip,

Great addition to your previous snapshots of the play. This will give a better indication of areas of interest and those already HBP. Lets hope the eastern boundary of the play has some decent wells. Thanks for all your hard work!!!
Your welcome, Horseman. To help better define the townships on the southern and eastern edges of the Play, I will also indicate the number of completed wells on future Snapshot maps.
Sorry,Skip......I was referring to the red numbers in the lower right corners of the sections.
SB. That is the number of rigs drilling in each township. As units normally precede wells, it is possible to misinterpret the map as defining all the shaded townships as proven. Those along the eastern and southern edges are not. Yet.
Please forgive me! I had a senior moment there. Like I was the only section in 8-12. LOL, just got excited when I saw this and posted.
David, no worries - some of us have "senior moments" on a rather frequent basis.
skip there are 995 wells listed from being permitted to active producing. there are 333 wells active producing,219 permitted,101drilling for atotal of 653. there are 342 wells in some stgae of operation. this is just from La side of the play
buckmaster. The majority of the wells you mention are located in townships whose Haynesville prospects have been previously well defined. I am interested in where the Play is expanding and the "step out" wells which will define the productive nature of the Shale in areas yet to be defined. I hope that is the value of the Snapshot map.
skip im working on a map tha will list all the wells in each sec of most of the townships. my map wont be large enough to get every township, i will have every thing from 9n to 15n and every thing from 9 w to state line. this map will have serial numbers of every well in every sec plus what stage the well is in. i almost have it up to date still have some more work to do.
GO BUCK!!! You tha man!!!
