This is most likely from a sand, not shale. If the pressure is correct, it won't last very long.
Absolutely a vertical sand well, Baron. Any idea of the value of 54 gravity condensate?
Yes, Haynesville sand! Too far north for Haynesville shale production. There is shale thre but the depositional environment was not favorable for accumulation of gas.
what about smackover greystone? such a thing? judyhastedt
Judy,

I think this may be the basal part of Smackover. Not real sure, but sounds familiar. Will try to find out for sure.

JT,

Without ready access to a well log i think top of Haynesville might be at about 9800 feet and top of Smackover might be at about 10,500 feet. These numbers are only guesses, but reasonably close. Smackover is divided into 3 zones. They are refferred to as A, B, C, with A being uppermost. In some places A is not present. The Smackover mainly consists of shales, sandstone and limestone. In my area Smackover "C" is also sometimes called Smackover lime. Below the "C" zone is what is often called basal Smackover. It is part of Smackover formation.
