I have heard from two sources, one works in Houston at a plant that makes drilling equipment (he was raised in Shelby County) and the other is someone knowledgable about what is going on in the area.
They both say that is a tremendous well, "The largest in the U.S.".
That is what I heard, all hearsay, but hope that it is accurate; for we have property about 3 miles north that is leased and 84 acres about 2 miles north that is not.
Hopefully someone more knowlegable about the business can help us out.

This would be tremendous news, if indeed true. Our own minerals are directly next door to this well.

I tend to hold out the excitement, however, until there is some verifiyable info released. In any event, I feel that this will definately be a "good neighborhood".

Time will tell, once the initial production report comes out for the well.

If you click on the "Map" button in the "API #" field a seperate page will open displaying the GIS map for that well. Zoom out a bit and you can see exactly where it is located.

CHK also has their Smith 1-H well directly below that Adams Unit.

As of last weekend, CHK had not placed a rig at the Smith site but looks like pad is ready. I hope they hit a big one there too. They have our lease in Bobo and we have heard nothing from them. The lease there expires there in 15 months.

Geezer, I hope what you heard is at least somewhere close to being correct. This might explain some of Devon's recent leasing just to the west of this well. I have interests about 4-5 miles to the west and 4-5 miles to the north. If this is a "good neighborhood" I hope it also ends up being a pretty big one.

There is a rig on the smith well, and has been there for several weeks. The pad you are talking about could be the one on the samford place. I think that is there name. Geezer, really cool that you made that first reply because that is exactly what I heard!!!

JC, I am sorry that is was mistaken about the rig. I pulled into the drive of what I thought was the Smith site on FM 1645. There is a "Bradshaw Construction" sign at the entrance I am referring to.The rig must be well off of the road and will check better next time by. Glad to hear another source of possible good news.
The Samford site, I thought, was on Hwy 87, close to where he lives. At least there is something that looks like pad sites on both sides of the highway. Someone just laid a pipeline through here; looks like in anticipation of what is going to be hit.
D Gaar, I too am holding back on excitement. The "sweet spot maps" from other post worry me, as do all of the permitting activity going on below Center; with few our way.
If these two well do come in good, hopefully some action could move north.

Not sure what site you are talking about on 1645. I mainly travel 87. The samford place is a pad on one side and a pond being built on the other, which I am sure they are gonna use for water that is needed. What is the Adams well currently doing?? Is it ready to produce or what?? How long till we know some numbers on it?? Hopefully it is a good one!

About a mile south of the Adam's site, which is off of FM 1645 by Prospect Church, is what I figured was the Smith site. According to the map on the permit, that is close to where it should be.

The smith well is actually on 87, chesapeake is drilling it now, they have already drilled a vertical there that was producing pretty well from what I hear.
