I would like to know if I'm in the area being drilled. Looks like I might be, but map is too hard to read. T19 10W S15

Excerpt from shreveporttimes.com article, Haynesville Shale Spares Local Economy:

"Drilling activity in the Haynesville Shale has held up extremely well given the very weak natural gas prices we are seeing. As time goes on, and more wells are drilled, we get a better idea of what areas have the best reservoir quality," said Joan Dunlap, Petrohawk Energy's vice president of investor relations. "During times of depressed prices, we can target those high quality areas, which are the most economic, while we look for ways to make lower quality areas more economic in the future. To me, that's what makes the Haynesville the 'real deal.'"

Parkdota, please see my response above. This is likely Petrohawk's current view of the Bossier Shale core but there is still very limited flow test information.

Can anyone tell me what the blue area labeled Lane Shoal means? I know it is outside of the defined core but what does that designation mean?

Help! I'm having difficulty locating my two sections of interest. I'm not even sure where the Sabine Parish boundaries are. The sections in question are S18 & S30, T9N, R12W. Thanks for the data ShaleGeo.

Martin, without getting out a scale and investing the time for a more exact location, I can eyeball the approximate location of 9N - 12 W as about half way between the capital "M" in More prospective for Bossier and the blue, 4bcf contour line, to the west/northwest. It appears you are well within the Bossier core but just outside the edge of the current economic Haynesville. You're close enough that I wouldn't count your land out.

Martin, although your sections fall outside of the Petrohawk "core" I am not sure if their map is that valid for Sabine Parish. While Petrohawk is just now drilling their first well in the parish, other operators have been very active with some great initial results.

JWC, most other operators show a larger core area than Petrohawk. I find Petrohawk wants to downplay the southern and eastern areas of the play since they have a smaller acreage position in those regions. Of note is one of EnCana's best wells in RRP fell outside of Petrohawk's "core" area.
